Come explore history! Visit the Cottage and Schoolhouse! Step back in time and explore Estero’s charming One-Room Schoolhouse and Historic Cottage Museum, open Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Estero Historical Society relies on volunteers, memberships, and donations to continue preserving and sharing the rich history of the greater Estero area. From educational programs to major preservation efforts like the relocation and restoration of the historic Alvarez/Smith Home, every project is made possible through community support.

Docent Spotlight!

Cheryl's love of history found her joining the Estero Historical Society and becoming a docent. Besides presenting to adults, Cheryl is looking forward to sharing all the interesting facets of Florida’s history with local school children and families. As a former teacher, her skills in sharing our history with our youth is greatly appreciated by the Estero Historical Society! Thank you, Cheryl, for donating your time and expertise.
