TRASH is a special August show of work created by the member-artists at 440 Gallery. Rather than concealing the origins of their materials, these pieces blatently make use of wear, damage and imperfection — a reminder that transformation itself can be an artistic act. Stop by this weekend and discover a collection that is fascinating to look at and a lot of fun too!

CALL FOR ARTISTS!

440 Gallery is excited to announce an open call for our 22nd Annual Small Works Show. This national, juried exhibition celebrates the innovation of artists who create work on a smaller scale, and includes a broad range of media and styles. The exhibition will be on display at 440 Gallery, in Park Slope, Brooklyn, from November 27 – December 20, 2025.

Submissions are open NOW and close on September 9 at 11:59pm EST. Submit via the link in our bio or go directly to our website 440gallery.com

We’re excited to welcome juror Constanza Valenzuela (Constanza Valenzuela), associate curator at Powerhouse Arts and co-founder of ACOMPI

Submissions are open to artists who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry, and who have a US shipping address. ⁠To be considered, work must be no more than 12 inches (12”) in any direction, including the framing, mounting, or video monitors. The artwork may represent any subject matter. All media—including oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, drawings, sculptures in any medium, collage, printmaking, photography, and digital media—will be considered.

Don’t hesitate—we can’t wait to see your small work.
