Most of us have walked into a space and felt instantly at ease, or inexplicably on edge, without knowing why. Color is usually the answer.

Interior designer, Grossman, has spent her career thinking carefully about what color does — and why it matters. She's joining us at MODA to break down how color actually moves people, and how you can use it intentionally in your own spaces.

What makes a place shape a sound?

Join us at Museum of Design Atlanta for a day exploring how place, culture, and design shaped the sound that changed music forever. Spend the morning with Dr. Regina Bradley tracing the legacy of Atlanta hip-hop from OutKast and the Dungeon Family to trap music’s global impact. Then, work with designer Sarah Lawrence to create historical markers honoring the Atlanta spaces that made it all possible.

From Bankhead to Stankonia Studios, this workshop looks at how music, memory, and design all leave their mark on a city.

Atlanta is full of food, it just isn’t reaching everyone. Food insecurity and food waste are often treated as separate problems. Yet in Atlanta, they exist side by side.

Each season, fruit trees across the city produce food that goes unharvested on public land, while many families struggle to access fresh produce. Concrete Jungle works to recover edible plants, fruits, and nuts across Atlanta and redirect them to communities that need them.

Their work reminds us that solving hunger can begin with paying closer attention to what already exists around us.

Posters tell you what a culture chooses to celebrate, question, mourn, promote, or remember.

The works in the U.S. International Poster Biennial move across countries, languages, art forms, and political moments. Some are loud, some are subtle, but all of them were designed to stop someone in their tracks.

Explore more than 130 posters from around the world at MODA through May 22. Head to the link below to get tickets today.

Some stories shape a city while others shape us personally. Join us on June 17 for Design Camp for Grown-Ups, a day spent honoring both.

Walk through Midtown with History Afoot Atlanta and uncover the women whose work helped shape the neighborhood around you. Then, in the afternoon, work with Stef Alicia McCalmon to create something that preserves a story of your own.

Take the time to make something that honors the people who shaped you.

Design isn't something you age into. Teen Design Camp is one of the ways MODA gives young people real tools, real challenges, and a community that shows up for them.

We’re grateful to Lucie Weaver (@‌mutterfly._) for being part of the MODA community and sharing her experience with us. Moving through programs over the years, she is bringing what she learned back to her own creative work.

The National Park Service has lost nearly 1/4 of its workforce since January 2025. Visitor centers are closing, and trails go unmaintained.

What do designers do in difficult times? They respond with powerful visuals. The U.S. International Poster Biennial challenged designers to take on national parks. Come see what they created and how design can show what’s at stake.
