We’re excited to introduce our Invited Artists for the 8th Annual Georgia Color Plein Air (Oct 13-18) in Savannah, GA! Meet the Artists, October 15.

Meet Don Yaun – a contemporary impressionist painter and plein air artist based in Buford, GA. He specializes in expressive landscapes, animals in scenes, floral works, architectural subjects, and historic Southern settings. His work explores light, color, texture, and atmosphere through a variety of approaches, from plein air painting to studio work, capturing the character and spirit of the places that inspire him.

A 1977 graduate of Ringling College of Art and Design, Yaun studied graphic design and illustration before building a successful career in design, illustration, photography, and trade show exhibit design. He retired in 2020 and returned to his original passion for fine art, bringing decades of experience in composition, visual communication, photography, and design to his painting. Today, he works primarily in acrylic and oil, continuing to build a growing body of plein air and studio paintings while creating original works and handcrafted custom frames, many made from hardwoods harvested on his own property. and on Facebook Yaun

Meet Adam Houston — an Athens, GA-based artist whose oil paintings reflect the timeless beauty of the Southern landscape through the lens of American Impressionism. With a BFA from the University of Georgia and over 25 years of experience in graphic design, Adam transitioned to painting full-time in 2024. Influenced by Impressionist greats like Childe Hassam and Willard Metcalf, his work bridges past and present, offering viewers a moment of stillness and connection to the natural world. An active member of the American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America, Adam regularly paints en plein air throughout the Southeast.
