“Intertwined in improbable poses, the bodies of Amparo Viau unwind through the exhibition space in a seamless, continuous path: brazen in returning the viewer’s gaze, they engage in the most unlikely contortions. Their feats are hosted on a single 40-meter-long sheet of paper that guides the visitor into a gradual immersion in the artist’s dreamlike imagination. The narrative progression recalls the chronological linearity of a film unspooling along the perimeter of the space: it is no surprise that, after an initial training in visual arts, Viau specialized in directing at the film school in Buenos Aires. Sequence after sequence, we delve into her inner world.” Benedetta Casini

We are pleased to invite you on THURSDAY, APRIL 9, from 6pm - 9pm, to the opening of “Un secreto se apaga entre mis manos”, Amparo Viau’s (Argentina, 1991) first European solo exhibition with a critical text by Benedetta Casini.

For her first European presentation, Viau conceives a large-scale installation, an immersive path in which a single drawing, approximately forty meters long and made with chalk pastels on paper, unfolds through the space, transforming drawing into a physical, visual, and temporal experience. The image ceases to function as an isolated element and instead becomes an environment, a passage, and a gesture.

At the center of Viau’s research lies the human figure. Intertwined bodies, overlapping scenes, and narrative fragments construct a layered visual texture in which drawing enters into dialogue with performative languages such as contemporary dance, theater, and cinema. The images appear like suspended choreographies or theatrical still frames crystallized on paper.

We look forward to welcoming you all on THURSDAY 9 APRIL and celebrate together this beautiful exhibition! Food and drinks will be supplied by the gallery
❤️❤️

Blown glass sculpture, water, phosphorous powder
H 107 cm, Ø 17 cm

“The theme of this second room is water—a theme very dear to Marullo, who has also explored it in other projects. There are two spherical sculptures in blown glass containing liquid with fluorescein, which glows bright yellow in the blue room. Placed on two pedestals, they create an oxymoronic contrast between the fragility of the container and the potential danger of its contents, which is explicitly stated in the title: Non sono lucciole ma uranio (They are not fireflies but uranium).” Elio Grazioli.

We are happy to share Giulia Mangoni’s and James Hillman’s site-specific intervention ‘Peak Begets Peak’ for Casa Italia - Livigno.

On the occasion of the 25th Winter Olympic Games Milan–Cortina 2026, Casa Italia reaffirms its role as a symbolic place of Italian excellence — a space where sport, culture, and vision come together. Present in three key locations — at the Triennale di Milano, the Centro di Preparazione Olimpica Aquagranda Livigno, and at Farsettiarte in Cortina d’Ampezzo — Casa Italia welcomes athletes, partners, and an international audience, sharing the values of our country with the world. For this Olympic edition, Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano (CONI) has chosen the theme MUSA, a tribute to Italy’s central role as a source of inspiration, creativity, and beauty, capable of uniting tradition and the future.

“Peak Begets Peak,” a site-specific installation by Giulia Mangoni and James Hillman, is located at the Centro di Preparazione Olimpica Aquagranda in Livigno. As a cumulative and layered work, the individual practices of Mangoni and Hillman intertwine to celebrate humanity’s interaction with the most extreme and romantic natural environments through athletic achievement.

Long, faceted zig-zag walls run along the corridor, painted in alternating light and dark tones of warm amber on the east side and in alternating light and dark tones of cool blue on the west side. The walls are cut at regular intervals by windows which, on the east side, are colored blue and, on the west side, amber — both fitted with transparent plastic panels.

These faceted walls form the backdrop for Giulia Mangoni’s painted and mural work — an interpretation of the mountain landscape of Livigno as seen through the moving bodies of athletes racing at full speed down the slopes.
