Introducing James Bantone and his solo show at the gallery “Skin Game” opening on September 16, 2026.

James Bantone was born in Geneva, Switzerland (1992) and currently lives and works between Geneva and Paris. The artist graduated with a Bachelor of Art & Media – Video at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in 2019 and completed the Work.Master – Contemporary Artistic Practices at the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) in 2021.
James Bantone’s practice moves across photography, sculpture, painting, and video, treating the image as a surface where desire, classification, and projection accumulate. Working with found and self-produced imagery, he is less interested in representation as likeness than in the conditions through which a subject becomes readable: how a surface is charged, misrecognized, circulated, and made available to fantasy, value, and consumption.

Don’t miss Jacopo Benassi at PAC Milano “Performing Pac. - These Fragments I Have Shored Against My Ruins” curated by Silvia Bignami, Iolanda Ratti and Diego Sileo.

As in previous editions, the exhibition begins with a ‘restaging’ of a historic PAC exhibition, reconstructed using archival materials: Kurt Schwitters. Collages, Paintings and Sculptures 1914–1947, curated in 2001 by Karin Orchard in collaboration with Luigi Sansone.
The title is taken from the final lines of T.S. Eliot’s poem The Waste Land (1922), which shares with Schwitters the desire to “build with the rubble”, gathering the fragments of Western culture and setting them against the collapse and desolation of the modern world.
Building on Schwitters’ additive and reworking process, seven artists have been invited to the PAC whose works and installations ideally draw on his legacy and influences: Jacopo Benassi, John Bock, Gabriella Ciancimino, Roberto Cuoghi, Thomas Hirschhorn, Lucia Marcucci and Mika Rottenberg.

Sol Calero is part of "Soglia / Common Acts", an exhibition presented by Francis Offman featuring a selection of works from the Silvia Fiorucci Collection.

The exhibition activates the space not only as a venue for display but as a sensory and relational environment, offering a perspective on the collection through the eyes of an artist who is part of it. In dialogue with works from the collection, a number of his previously unseen works will also be presented.
The title Soglia / Common Acts introduces a dual trajectory: on the one hand, the “threshold” as a space of physical and perceptual transition; on the other, “common acts” as a set of ordinary and shared gestures—never neutral—that define the relationship between body, space, and artwork.
