At Frilli Gallery we don’t really like to show off.

And we like to use social media sparingly, also to keep the profile of our clients and their important commissions, private and pristine.

But sometimes we cannot help but sharing the beauty, the precision, and the scrupulous meticulousness with which we work.

You can here admire in full length a faithful replica of the Diana by August Saint-Gaudens, the original of which in bronze, is inside the Met Museum, New York.

Special thanks go to Gabriele Vicari for the creation of this stunning clay of Woman Diana almost dancing on her tiptoe.

Frilli Gallery is proud to introduce , Paolo Staccioli, yet another incredible Italian sculptor joining our crew of creative, unique artists!

Born in Scandicci in 1943, Paolo Staccioli approaches the art world in the seventies, when he begins to exhibit his painting in the Florentine environment.

At the beginning of the nineties, the need to experiment with new expressive languages pushed him to Faenza, where he refined the techniques of the art of ceramics.

His ceramics, with a strong metallic effect and sparkling enamel, soon impose themselves, for their elegance and originality, in the artistic panorama no longer only in Florence, but at national levels.

Over the years, Staccioli, following his well-established sculptural vocation, devoted himself to exploring the formal properties of bronze, a material that, like ceramic, finds perfect correspondence with the formal, synthetic and stylistic layout of his creations.

Among his most recent personal exhibitions, he remembers "In the ancient belly of the Palace - Exercises of war and children's games", held in the Sala d'Arme of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence in 2021.

Royalty by Eran Webber

Bronze Cast - year 2012 - h. 85x50 cm.

Eran Webber is a talented Israeli artist and admired professor at the Florence Art Academy. He is also co-founder and academic director of the sculpture department at Hatahana Studio in Tel Aviv.

In this portrait he wants to impress in one pose and one face, the Dignity, Majesty and Nobility of a human life until the very last breath.

Towards almost the end of a woman’s path, there is no longer need to be pretending. Rather one can finally strip herself of all the superfluous accumulated over the years. One can get rid of all the heavy burdens and the worrisome preoccupations, and show herself in all his naturalness: flesh, spirit and royalty.

True Royalty does not need frills.

Strike a pose 😎🤩!!!

Look at our splendid and gold glittering bronze replica of the David by Andrea del Verrocchio ( 1472/1475) while it is been cast at our foundry in Florence.

From these pictures, beyond appreciating the various phases of the ancient technique of the lost wax method for bronze casting, you will see in detailed the gold leaf application on the alloy surface, which enables to faithfully reconstruct the look of this young model of old times.

The gilded decorated parts, as a careful eye may notice on what is left on the original, were on the lace decoration of the gown and harness of the young soldier, as well as entirely covering the curly hair similar to that of an innocent angel.

The Frilli Gallery mold of this very special sculpture symbol of the Florentine Renaissance, was taken from the masterpiece conserved in the Bargello Museum, Florence.

Frilli Gallery is constantly in search of new talents to enlarge its stage of amazing artists and offer to the public novel expressions of art, that are the synthesis between classic and contemporary.

This time we are proudly introducing Thierry Benenati, French born artist.
Thierry, after studying Applied Arts, spent 20 years in Paris as creative and artistic director in advertising agencies. For over 10 years now, he has been devoted to sculpture, pure artistic expression of his true nature. He regularly participates in the Grand Palais, or at the Salon d’Automne where he was vice-president and president of the sculpture section.

Thierry is an incredible yet very humble artist, almost a philosopher in art. He does not consider himself a self-proclaimed super star artist, but one trained in tradition and respect for the classics, working hard and with discipline.

His sculptures exemplify an ancient tradition, yet incorporating a modern world.
Benenati’s show inside the Frilli Gallery are some of the most surprising exemplars of his own bestiary. He has a bubbling of imagination in the use of heterogeneous materials brightly harmonized, never blurring.

What Benenati tries to achieve is an harmonious blend of classic and modern, while striking a balance that is natural yet distinctly surreal. His creations, mostly with animals as subject matter, can be regarded as symbolist-surrealist in their expression while traces of the Baroque style, a hint at his Italian heritage. He attempts not only to show the beauty of physical form, but also to reveal a deeper sense of the subjects he sculpt. The result is an allegorical representation of the subjects' inner spirits, be they animal or otherwise, employing fundamental techniques of light, space and even time.

The relationship that binds the Frilli Gallery with the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence, is a partnership made of friendship and esteem that has lasted for over ten years.

This year 2022, to mark the reopening of the hotel and with a spirit of encouragement for the future and for a new season of entertainment for our special guests in Florence, Frilli Gallery has recently inaugurated a brand new exhibition comprising four international sculptors who all come to work and cast their majestic artworks directly in Florence: Calyxte Campe, Paddy Campbell, Antonio Nocera, and the unmissable Bjorn Skaarup.

The Park of the Four Seasons, second only in size to the Boboli Gardens, is a majestic temple of nature right in the heart of the city of Florence, which stands out for its centuries-old trees, some of which are rare specimens from remote places in the world. Inside the walls of this earthly paradise hidden from the public, the sculptures of the artists of the Frilli Gallery also house and blend with the lush greenery and with the small neoclassical temples that dot the park.

Since the beginning of the fantastic collaboration between the city of Florence and the prestigious hotel, a symbol in the world of excellent hospitality, Frilli Gallery has curated all the exhibitions of contemporary art, bringing its artists to perform in this splendid setting, unique in its kind, and bringing to life the classical tradition of decoration of stately parks typical of the Renaissance.

Come and let yourself be pampered by this unique paradise, made of art and nature, immersed in the heart of one of the most beautiful cities of the italian peninsula.

Introducing “Life” by Simone Filosi
White Carrara marble
50x40x110h. cm.

Simone has a unique and undisputed ability when sculpting hard and resistant marble, reducing it to thin and sinuous curves.
His distinctive artistic technique of excavating from inside out the block, makes up for the most recognizable signature of his portfolio of works.

“Life” is a tribute to the unique and most precious gift of Mother Nature, and is represented here, in what the artist says can be a very personal interpretation of the art piece, as an 🥚 egg, an extraordinary anthropological symbol of fertility, life and regeneration.

Presentiamo “Life” di Simone Filosi
Marmo bianco di Carrara
50x40x110h. cm.

Have you ever seen a furnace melting bronze ingots before it is poured into the mold and transformed into a sculpture? This is the exact hot moment in which you can see this happening.

Our master founder Jacopo Ciglia is preparing the ingots on the left and is also recuperating smaller pieces of bronze that have been cut out from previous castings. Because bronze casting is not only an ancient traditional technique, but is truly also an eco friendly and sustainable process trough which many materials can be recycled and used again and again. Like it often happens with marvelous old ways of doing, compared to more modern consumerism, which unfortunately risk going lost.

At Frilli Gallery we take pride in caring about the finest and tiniest detail in order to make beauty and preciousness our utmost scope in delivering art and culture to you.

Here is one of our master sculptors completing the carving of this gigantic block titled “Woman on a Hammock” right in the window of our Gallery, while people strolling on the sidewalk take a glance inside.

This masterpiece by Antonio Frilli was firstly created at the end of the 1800s on an romantic almost Art Deco idea, and soon became world renowned for its exhibition at the international expositions of the arts in Saint Louis and then San Francisco, United States.

Nowadays at least four of these unique exemplars have been carved and are located in exclusive private locations around the world.

The sculpture shows a girl resting quietly on a hammock, in a perfect almost Canovian style.
The fascinating details, the relaxing and inviting pose, the rich drapery of the blanket that falls softly to the ground, the sensation provoked by the n**e of this body as if almost quietly breathing, makes of this composition a true example of Frilli Gallery’s master sculpture.
