Our current exhibition features a selection of still life works by @ptfoster.art the Artist who founded the Arts Inn.
These still life paintings, representing compositions of fruits or flowers often combined with other objects, are anything but traditional. With a solid technique developed in years of experience, Peter creates works that are contemporary and timeless.
A combination of rigorous composition, skillful use of light, and mastery of color produces paintings that are mysterious and elegant, simple in their complexity.

L'11 novembre di cinque anni da aprivamo la nostra piccolissima galleria d'arte con cocktail bar. Siamo cresciuti molto, e abbiamo trovato sul nostro cammino la pandemia. Dopo un periodo assurdo, adesso ci stiamo riprendendo e vogliamo festeggiare con voi!
Non possiamo avere grandi eventi a causa delle limitazioni imposte dalla pandemia.
Ma per chi vorrà venire a trovarci, avremo i nostri lavori artistici in esposizione, una nuova fantastica playlist, e offriremo al tavolo stuzzichini e dolcetti giapponesi, in abbinamento al nuovissimo signature creato da Silvio Calabria: Hokusai. Ispirato al lavoro del più celebre fra i pittori giapponesi, autore della Grande Onda di Kanagawa, in cui sono magistralmente combinati gli elementi del fuoco e dell'acqua, così come in questo drink particolare si uniscono sapori opposti in una sorprendente armonia.
Today November 11th it's The Arts Inn's birthday!
Five years ago wie opened our small art gallery with cocktail bar. We have grown a lot, and found the pandemic on our path.... After a difficult period, we are slowly picking up and we want to celebrate! We cannot have big events due to the anti-contagion limitations.
But for all who will come, we will have our beautiful art, a stellar new playlist, and we will offer snacks and Japanese sweets, in combination with Silvio Calabria 's brand new signature drink, Hokusai. Inspired by the work of the most famous Japanese painter, author of The great wave of Kanagawa, in which the elements of fire and water are combined skillfully, just like in this particular drink opposite flavors unite in a surprising harmony.
Our current online artist, Marcello Salzano @marcellouffizigallery, has been painting in the Uffizi square for 45 years. A stranger known the world over, he is an old school street artist, carrying on a century old tradition which is an integral part of the fabric of Italian cities. BEYOND STREET ART
Born in Rome in Trastevere, Marcello is a self-taught artist. In Florence he found the ideal place to share his innate talent and passion for art. A true icon of Florence, Marcello has been present in the Piazzale degli Uffizi for 45 years. Although he has participated in some exhibitions in Florence and in the United States, the most important and significant exhibition is the one that continues every day in the heart of the city.
The paintings shown here are examples of Marcello’s signature works which he sells in Piazza degli Uffizi since 1977. They represent places in via dei Neri, which used to be a typical Florentine Borgo, a neighborhood, with a tailor, fishmongers, two farmer’s markets, artisanal stone mosaics, antiques, books, leather goods, jewelers, and much more.

"This piece is a representation of the passage of time. I painted this series of skyscapes over the course of two days, repeating the same subject from the balcony of my home or from the nearby river. I felt that this exercise could either help mark the days and separate them from one another, or simply prove that they flow into each other and can't be told apart".

"This sketch of the clouds was painted on a quiet day in early February. This piece has a more textural and experimental technique, giving it an unusual surface with lines, bumps, and outlines. This is a contrast to my usual smooth, blended paintings".
