Are you an artist living or working in Richmond Upon Thames? 🎨 📷 🖼️

In case you missed it, we recently announced an exhibiting opportunity at Orleans House Gallery for artists living or working in the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames.

Following on from 2020’s Art Unlocked, our next open call exhibition, Breaking Ground, is from 6-21 November – running alongside Richmond Literature Festival. The exhibition asks local artists to respond to the same stimulus as this year’s festival – ‘how we can build a better world that is more sustainable, more inclusive and more equal?’. The exhibition will run in the Stables Gallery at Orleans House Gallery from 6-21 November.

Here are some of the artworks presented at our last open call exhibition, Art Unlocked, in October 2020.

The deadline for proposals is 12noon on 11 October.

Day 3
So you are dog friendly. So how come when I turn up with my two dogs on my own I can’t order breakfast and coffee. I come in, but not up to the counter, only to be reminded of the notice that I had dutifully just read outside. ‘No dogs allowed inside’ blah blah...But, I ask, can you take my order outside, where I’m happy to sit? No! We are not allowed to take orders. (I believe you had 3 other customers at the time, no queue). Madness!!
Since the stunning transformation completion last March 1st 2018 courtesy the Heritage Lottery Fund, Orleans House Gallery is now a Grade 1 listed building. If you're interested in history, then just visit!! Named after Louis Phillipe king of France, duc d'Orleans who was in exile & lived here for 2 years...
Wonderful afternoon at the Cathy Cooper Life Through a Lens exhibition, these were our favourite shots - magnificent x
Totally gorgeous house, galley and gardens that has something for everyone, particularly those interested in local history and anecdote.
I went along last Friday. It was my first time at Orleans House .. Our guide Simon was really enthusiastic about the history of, not only the of this beautiful house, but of Twickenham in general. Had a really interesting afternoon I learnt so much and am looking forward to going back again soon. Well worth a visit! ❤️
Next Week Tuesday at 13.15 the last leisure lecture about art history for 2018. Many thanks to a fantastic year of interesting lecturers and lovely audiences!
