The Bomb Factory Art Foundation was founded on the premise that art, artists and creative culture offer significant value in our society. Our mission is to support artists, cultural organisations and educational institutions to engage people of all ages and backgrounds in the viewing and creation of art. The Bomb Factory enables contemporary visual arts practice to thrive through the provision of

affordable studio and exhibition space as well as a supportive network of artists where peer collaboration and critique is encouraged.

All resident artists support the organisation by contributing their skills and time to the public programme. Their engagement with learning and participation enables The Bomb Factory Art Foundation to demonstrate the social value of art.

The Bomb Factory is looking for a Deputy Director!

The Deputy Director (Operations & Finance) is a new position in our organisiation that will lead the day-to-day running of The Bomb Factory, bringing together operations, HR, governance, finance oversight and property management under clear, reliable leadership. Working closely with the Director and deputising in her absence, you will line-manage teams across finance, buildings, studios and administration, and act as Company Secretary to the Board of Trustees.

Join Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Collective in our Marylebone Gallery space for a relaxed, collaborative knitting session exploring care, connection and collective making.

Safety Blanket is an ongoing series of workshops where participants knit collectively from the same piece, creating a multi-edged form that grows outwards over time. As the artwork expands, it becomes a starting point for conversation, shared learning and unexpected moments of connection between strangers.

Rather than focusing on technical perfection or individual outcomes, this workshop embraces experimentation and collective learning. Mistakes are welcomed as part of the process and remain visible within the final piece.

This is a gentle, informal space for making, talking, observing and spending time creatively with others - no pressure, no previous experience required.

Free workshop, all materials provided.

Thank you everyone that came to the opening of “COLLECTIVISM” at our Marylebone Gallery last week.

Sustaining an artistic practice alone has rarely been more difficult. In response, artist collectives have emerged as vital networks of support, offering shared authorship and new ways of working. COLLECTIVISM brings these approaches into focus, presenting work shaped through collective thinking and cultural exchange.

The show continues until 13th June, open Wednesday - Saturday 12-6pm.

We are excited to be presenting work by NiNE8, as part of our upcoming exhibition “COLLECTIVISM”, opening at our Marylebone Gallery on Thursday!

NiNE8 was founded in 2016 out of both an enthusiasm and necessity to collaborate creatively across disciplines in order to create a better end result. Without friends and family in the industry or financial backing of any kind, they used creative currency to exchange resources, supporting each other’s solo as well as group projects to communicate ideas more effectively.

Starting as a sprawling collective comprising politics, music, poetry, and video boards, the group distilled over time to the current core six members, collaborating and engaging in various forms of artistic media.

We are excited to be presenting work by Thin Red Lion, as part of our upcoming group show “COLLECTIVISM” opening at our Marylebone Gallery on the 21st between 6-9pm!

Thin Red Lion was born from lively discussions in post-work pub gatherings, and finds resonance in the ethos of these spaces. The name combines ‘The Red Lion’, - the most common pub name in the UK - with “The Thin Red Line”, a figure of speech for any thinly spread group holding firm against the odds.

Their collective ideology is deeply intertwined with the conviviality and camaraderie found within communal walls and combined forces. Thin Red Lion’s current cohort consists of 12 members comprising a diverse group of multidisciplinary artists with a rich tapestry of cultural backgrounds - from Hong Kong, Japan and Brazil to Greece, Romania, Ireland and the UK.

We are excited to be showcasing Davies, Monaghan & Klein as part of “COLLECTIVISM”, a group exhibition of collectives in our Marylebone Gallery- opening 21st May 6-9pm!

Davies, Monaghan & Klein began working together in 2008. Their collaborative practice creates immersive three-dimensional environments that serve as sets for stop-motion animation and live-action film. By combining movement, light, and sound, they build spaces that exist between sculpture and cinema. At the heart of their work is an ongoing exploration of contemporary social and political issues, with a particular interest in how individuals navigate institutions—where personal agency meets vulnerability. Through shifts in scale and perspective, they create environments that prompt reflection and critical thought.
