Last week, we teased our Social Shapla Exhibition - give a warm welcome to 'Social Shapla #3', which can be admired at the lower gallery of the Kentish Town Health Centre 🎉

Each year, the Social Shapla artists prepare diligently for their annual exhibition, demonstrating their artistry, friendship and focus in using creativity as personal expression.

With each exhibition and workshop session, the group grows in confidence, learning new techniques, improving existing skills, and enjoying time together. Social Shapla has become an indispensable aid to the artists' wellbeing and sense of community.

A big thank you to Social Shapla's project manager Li and outreach worker Dee for their work and commitment to supporting the Social Shapla artists.

So, whether it's to partake in a workshop, seeing your GP or simply perusing our exhibitions - we look forward to seeing you at the Social Shapla #3 exhibition.

Today, we held our annual Social Shapla Garden Gathering - and we can confidently say - it was a HIT 🪷

Hosting a buffet of creative activities, opportunities to play and enjoy delicious food made by the Social Shapla team, the Garden Gathering achieved its core goal: bringing our participants, patients and Camden residents together in creative solace.

Visitors were able to share their feedback, and even step into the Social Shapla exhibition held in our lower gallery.

We will be sharing more about the exhibition but for now, enjoy our carousel of moments from the Social Shapla Garden Gathering 👏

Our ongoing exhibition 'Noah of the Zoa' by artist George Harding .therapy is at it's halfway mark 🏁

If you are a sculpture and painting enthusiast, 'Noah of the Zoa' showcases works that are rich in colour and trailing patterns, with sculptural works possessing an almost archaic appearance.

So, have you visited 'Noah of the Zoa'? Head to the Kentish Town Health Centre!

Painting and printing, but with nature...our recent Drawn Together workshop session brought the twigs, the branches and bark as we used nature as our brush 🌳

Working with an alternative medium challenges the mind and body. It allows us to think outside the box and see what can be achieved with something unfamiliar. Extra points for resourcefulness.

And that is exactly what was achieved with our Drawn Together artists ⚡

Sometime's you need to think outside the workshop studio, and into nature!

Get your embroidery hoops out, sequins and let's get making with Social Shapla 🪡!

Like clockwork - 1' o clock, every Wednesday - our Social Shapla artists get together to catch-up and create. This week, the group explored floral embroidery.

The embroidery created by the group feels reminiscent of Nakshi kantha - a history-rich, embroidered quilt.

With beautiful, ornate designs that embrace a variety of flowers, creatures and memories - we cannot wait to see what the Social Shapla group incorporates into their creations 🪷

The first contribution to Creative Health Camden's 'Thought Behind The Frame' series is here - and we are revisiting the curatorial researchand why it was and remains important to host exhibitions like 'Inherited Bodies' ⚡

For those newly introduced to our series, ‘Thought Behind The Frame’ is a online series showcasing the curatorial responsibility and care given to our exhibitions programme at Creative Health Camden.

The series will offer insights into the subjects and lived experiences explored in our exhibitions, research discoveries and why a discussion always matters.

Complimenting our research, we want to thank our exhibiting artist for sharing her lived experience and allowing us to learn more through her practice.

'Inherited Bodies' served as a entry point into a conversation on women's health, championing openness and connection through shared experiences and understandings of PCOS, POI and PMDD.

We also had the chance to receive feedback from our gallery visitors, which we have included into the carousel. They demonstrate the benefit of exhibitions as gentle invitations into important or distressing topics.

We hope you enjoy our first post for the series - more to come 🩷

Our in-house East Camden Integrated Neighborhood Team (INT) is our Team of Teams - but what does that mean and how has it led to our new zine? 📖

In 2024, Camden’s Borough Health and Care Partnership Board secured a space for the East Adult Social Care team and East Community Health team.

These two teams co-located within the Kentish Town Health Centre, forming what we have termed the 'Team of Teams'!

Working closely with INT, we worked to extend our services to the Camden residents being seen by the INT. The INT were asked to ‘test’ how to work together, so our residents ‘only have to tell their story once’.

What follows is a zine detailing the experiences of the East Camden INT from those who worked within it.

You can check out the full zine 🔗 By visiting our link in bio and scrolling to our 'Read and Learn' section!
