Most people don’t come back to photography after 25 years.
London Photo Show this June at Hoxton Arches will include work from Jim Diamond, someone who did exactly that.
He started shooting combat sports in the 80s.
Boxing at places like Royal Albert Hall, karate across Europe.
Then, a legal career took over and photography went on hold.
Years later, he came back to it and picked up exactly where he left off.
His work spans decades of combat sport:
– shot on film in the 80s
– shot digitally in recent years
– the same instinct running through all of it
Jim is not just documenting sport, but seeing it differently.
Treating it as something closer to art.
You’ll see that progression in his work at the show.
