The Roar of Waters

The Roar of Waters An exhibition of female artists, poets and dancers from the Middle East

Inspired by the poetry of renowned Israeli poet and political activist Dahlia Ravikovitch, “The Roar of Waters” presents six female Israeli artists whose work speaks to the fragile and aggressive nature of their social and political identities. The exhibition, named after Ravikovitch’s 1964 poem of the same name, brings together artists whose work addresses the stoicism, disillusionment and hope i

n contemporary Israeli society. This selection demonstrates the paradox of forcefulness and fear that is inherent in much of the art being produced in the region. The exhibition will be accompanied by a published poetry book and poetry readings, performance art, and academic panels discussing the role of art in politics.
