Today we celebrate the extraordinary career of David Hockney

one of the most influential and beloved artists of our time.

From his iconic swimming pools and vibrant landscapes to his embrace of digital technology, Hockney has spent decades reminding us that art should be full of curiosity, colour, and joy. His ability to constantly reinvent his practice while remaining unmistakably himself is a lesson for every artist and collector alike.

A true pioneer whose work continues to inspire generations around the world.

At the age of 7, Jean-Michel Basquiat was hit by a car while playing in the street. During his recovery, his mother gave him a copy of Gray’s Anatomy to help pass the time.

The book would leave a lasting mark on his imagination. Years later, skeletal forms, organs, and anatomical references became recurring motifs throughout his work, helping shape one of the most distinctive visual languages in contemporary art.

A childhood accident became part of the foundation of an artistic legacy.

Sometimes the things that shape us most are the things we never planned for.

Where it lives.

A painting changes when it leaves the gallery wall. It stops being a thing you look at and becomes a thing you live alongside the first thing you pass in the morning, the last light catches at night.

Step inside a home shaped by original work: a figure that holds the entrance, two dancers mid-movement in the living room, a quiet game waiting in the study. Each piece one of a kind. Each one chosen, not decorated around.

This is what we mean when we say art is meant to be lived with not stored, not saved for later, but home.

Swipe through. Imagine yours.

THE CHILD BEHIND THE MASTERPIECE

A sentence some of the world’s greatest artists have heard for decades.

In this new collection, artist Boogiemoli reimagines the visual languages of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Pablo Picasso, Damien Hirst and Cy Twombly through the eyes of a child, literally.

Each piece places a child inside the artwork, painting the compositions themselves, transforming one of contemporary art’s most common criticisms into the concept itself.

The collection explores the tension between simplicity and genius, questioning why emotionally driven or abstract work is so often dismissed before it is understood.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

MEET TOUILS

Touils is part of a new generation of artists redefining contemporary painting through colour, emotion, and cultural narrative. Born in Morocco and now based in Dubai, his journey is entirely self-taught, shaped by instinct, resilience, and lived experience. Drawing inspiration from Impressionist masters, his work feels both timeless and unmistakably modern, using layered brushstrokes and luminous palettes to transform landscapes and cultural scenes into something dreamlike — not just places, but feelings.

What sets his work apart is its intention. Beneath the vibrancy lies a deeper story of overcoming adversity and choosing optimism, with each canvas embracing light, warmth, and escape. For collectors, Touils offers more than visual impact, his work sits at the intersection of accessibility and depth, making it both immediately striking and emotionally resonant. As his global presence continues to grow, he is quickly becoming an artist to watch for those seeking culturally rich, forward-thinking contemporary art.

At HER FINE ART, we are always looking towards artists who are shaping culture in real time, Touils is undoubtedly one to watch.

NOTHING NEW by Boogie at HER FINE ART.

NOTHING NEW
is a series of three paintings that delves into the concept
that, despite the cyclical nature of history and repetition
of human experiences, each individual’s perspective brings
forth a unique innovation.

The title itself is a reference to
the oft-quoted phrase, “There is nothing new under the
sun,” but the collection’s narrative challenges this by
affirming that within this familiar framework, true
creativity emerges when we infuse our personal essence
into the old.

Each piece in this collection is a
reinterpretation of a classical masterpiece, transformed
and reimagined, to explore how something ‘old’ can be
reborn through a contemporary lens and serve as a
testament to the timeless potential of human ingenuity.

Buying art is easy. Collecting art is intentional.

Anyone can purchase a piece that looks good.
A collector builds something deeper, a story, a point of view, a legacy.

Buying is about the moment.
Collecting is about meaning, patience, and vision.

At Her Fine Art, we don’t just help you buy art.
We help you build a collection that reflects who you are — and who you’re becoming.

A scream caught between flesh and shadow.
In “Study for a Head”

(1952), Francis Bacon channels his lifelong pursuit to reveal the fragility of the human condition.
The distorted face, suspended between form and dissolution, evokes both psychological intensity and the existential terror that defined his postwar portraits.
