NEW EXHIBITION for April at Hundred Years Gallery : Collective Drawings and Some Pomegranates. : A new show of works from our monthly collective drawing session, exploring the psychological dynamics of shared creativity, where distributed collaboration leads to emergent ideas and feelings of connection, serving as a powerful tool for understanding and processing shared social experiences and the trauma of our f**ked-up 21st century existence.

Opening Thursday 5th March at Hundred Years Gallery : Drawings & Drawn Poems includes 6 of Stephen Watts’ notebooks from his recently published A Book Of Drawn Poems, spanning the period 1991-2008. The exhibition also displays earlier drawings & small paintings, mostly from 1974. In all these works the poet seeks to embrace the sense of poetry as drawing & vice versa : not ‘asemic’ work, nor ‘concrete poetry’ : rather works that seek to naturally express the breathing of line & motion in both poetry & image more or less at the same time.

“In today’s media the relationship between an event and its photographic documentation has been undermined. The drawings in this show are an attempt to create an alternative documentary form, a more truthful way of nailing down truth.”
