We’re thrilled to welcome back to Well Hung for Patternicity.

Katy Binks is a multidisciplinary artist and printmaker whose bold, colour-driven practice spans silkscreen, mural and installation. Informed by architecture, textiles and the physical process of printmaking, her work embraces variation, layering and the unpredictability of making by hand.

These studio images show Katy creating one of the new screenprints that will be on display at tonight’s opening. Built through repeated layers, shifting colour relationships and subtle irregularities in the surface, each print carries its own rhythm and variation.

See new work by Katy Binks in Patternicity, opening tonight, Thursday 21 May, 6–9pm.

We’re super excited to be exhibiting .dosa at Well Hung for the first time as part of Patternicity.

Matt Dosa is a North London-based abstract artist whose practice is rooted in graffiti culture and shaped by the energy of the city. Working across painting, print, sculpture and large-scale murals, his work brings together bold colour, hard-edged forms and surfaces that reveal the physical process of making.

Alongside his studio practice, Dosa has created public commissions for Haringey Council, the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund, Universal Music and others.

See new work by Matt Dosa in Patternicity, opening Thursday 21 May, 6–9pm.

We’re delighted to welcome back to Well Hung Gallery as part of Patternicity.

A multidisciplinary artist and designer based in London, Mark draws on the visual language of the built environment, including structures, signage and spatial order.

Working across printmaking, mural and sculpture, his compositions treat form as a framework: a set of rules that are established and then challenged. Using geometric systems, found materials and bold colour relationships, McClure’s work reflects the layered, shifting fabric of the city.

For Patternicity, Mark presents works constructed from individually painted wooden segments, alongside a new series of sculptural works.

Patternicity opens this Thursday.

The centrepiece of Ben Wakeling’s exhibition, Holding Form, is this large-scale mixed media painting, Electric Avenue.

The photo doesn’t quite capture the colour, texture and energy of the work, so we’ve included a short video to show the detail.

There’s only one week left to see Holding Form, so do come and visit.

We’re delighted to announce our upcoming exhibition, Patternicity.

Patternicity brings together the work of Katy Binks, Mark McClure and Matt Dosa, three artists rooted in abstraction, each negotiating the relationship between control and disruption.

Taking its name from the tendency to identify structure and meaning within visual noise, the exhibition presents work in which pattern is formed, tested and unsettled through processes of making. Working across painting, print and sculpture, the artists construct and disrupt systems as they explore a shared territory between order and instability. Surfaces are layered, systems are reworked and material process remains visible throughout.

A shared engagement with large-scale mural-making runs throughout the exhibition. To mark the show, the artists will be creating a site-specific collaborative work for the gallery window, extending the exhibition outward into the city.

We’d love to see you there.
