Magnolias, a new exhibition by Rosie Sanders, is now on view.

These paintings capture that short, vivid moment in spring when magnolia trees come into full bloom: abundant, luminous, and slightly overwhelming in their beauty.

If you’re nearby, do come and spend some time with them.

On view until 1 August.

Magnolias, a new exhibition by Rosie Sanders opens tomorrow. 🌺

On view until 1 August, the exhibition brings together watercolours inspired by a private garden where magnolias bloom in extraordinary abundance each spring.

There is a briefness to this season that runs through the work, an intensity of colour and form that appears suddenly, and almost as quickly begins to pass.

Sanders has described the experience as both overwhelming and fleeting, and it is this sense of transience that quietly shapes the paintings.

We look forward to welcoming you in the gallery. You can also view the full exhibition on our website.

Rosie Sanders: Magnolias opens this week!

Sanders is known for her luminous, large-scale watercolours of flowers, and in this new body of work she turns her attention to magnolias in spring, a subject defined as much by its fleeting nature as its beauty.

Inspired by a remarkable private garden, these paintings capture that brief moment when trees seem to shift almost overnight into clouds of pink, crimson, and white blossom.

We're excited to share this exhibition with you. View full details in our bio.

Turner’s process begins with direct observation, but the finished works are less about recording and more about distilling. Colour becomes slightly softened, forms are simplified, and what remains is atmosphere.

Nicholas Turner
Figure, Moon and Chapel, 2020/25
Oil on board
10 x 12 ins (25.5 x 30.5 cm)

Nicholas Turner’s paintings are built slowly, with a careful sense of colour and composition, and a kind of restraint that lets the atmosphere do the work. The starting point may be the landscape, but what emerges feels more reflective, something shaped as much by memory as by what was seen.

Out of the Box brings together a group of these works, each one holding onto that quiet, thoughtful quality that defines his practice.

The exhibition is now live online. Explore more on our website.

Now available to view online: Out of the Box by Nicholas Turner.

There’s something about the way Nicholas Turner builds a painting.

What begins as a quick response to the landscape is carried back into the studio and slowly reworked. Not to describe the scene exactly, but to hold onto something of the experience itself.

Nicholas Turner: Out of The Box is available to view online.

This new collection represents some of Turner's works that were created outdoors in pochade boxes, some of which he has used for over thirty years.

The show highlights how these outdoor sessions have consistently inspired his studio work: ‘most ideas have their beginnings in these outdoor experiences. They more often than not influence my time spent in the studio’.

👉 Now live: Out of the Box, an online exhibition of paintings by Nicholas Turner.

Turner’s work is held in numerous important public and private collections internationally, and is widely recognised for its distinctive sense of atmosphere and control of colour. His paintings carry a quiet depth: structured, thoughtful, and deeply considered.

This presentation brings together works that speak clearly to that strength of vision.

📍 Nicholas Turner: Out of the Box opens online tomorrow.

This new collection brings together works that begin outdoors, made directly in the landscape using the small pochade boxes Turner has carried with him for over three decades.

These immediate responses to light and atmosphere form the starting point for paintings that are later developed in the studio, where the initial encounter is refined but never lost. What emerges is not a record of a place, but something closer to its essence, held quietly within the surface of the work.
