With great sadness we share Angus lost his battle with cancer on 13th Angus and the end of the Broadbent Gallery era. Just 62 years it was too soon. May he rest in peace, a wonderful husband, father, friend and member of the London art community. Art was his work but it was much more than a job for Angus. It was his passion and joy. He got huge pleasure from the Broadbent Gallery community, from working with the artists, assistants and clients that were sprinkled across 35 years of Broadbent in its many guises from a Notting Hill Mews to Chepstow Place and finally Cromwell Place. Angus didn’t get the time to say all the goodbyes he wanted to with a rapid deterioration from complications with his chemo. On his behalf l want to share a huge heartfelt thank you for the collaborations with artists; Pierre, Kate, Luke, Willard, John Henry, Gary, Alf, Nigel, Chrissie and many more and the joy of exhibiting Stephen Hough’s art work for the first time. For his wonderful clients many of whom he considered friends, and broader community of printers, framers, art fair organisers and fellow gallerists. You were all part of his special Broadbent Gallery world, thank you for contributing to Angus’s joy in life. He made his mark, his work is done, but he will always be remembered and celebrated. Richenda, Phoebe & Lara.
