Born on this day in 1940, John Lennon became more than a musician, he became a cultural icon whose unmistakable image continues to inspire artists and designers around the world.

For Radisson RED Liverpool, Lennon and his fellow Beatles provided the inspiration for artwork celebrating the city’s extraordinary musical story. Reimagined through records, bold graphics and a fresh take on that famous Abbey Road crossing, they prove that truly iconic images never stop evolving.

Happy birthday, John. 🎶

Welcome to The Bigger Picture - our behind-the-scenes series revealing the people, processes and practical expertise that bring every Indigo Art project to life.

This is Rob, our resident DJ working on a bespoke piece based on a collection of vinyl records, carefully arranged and assembled to create one seriously striking composition.
For the record, we think this one’s going to be a hit. 💿

⚓ All hands on deck!

Our expert fitters are equally at home up a ladder, behind the wheel of a van or finding their sea legs aboard a cruise ship.

A recent assignment saw our fitters Colin and Rob meet up with a very arty gent to climb aboard Saga’s Spirit of Adventure, where Indigo Art regularly assists with its rotating exhibitions.

With around 1,500 artworks aboard, the ship is a floating gallery and every new display calls for a crew who really know the ropes.

⚓ All hands on deck!

Our expert fitters are equally at home up a ladder, behind the wheel of a van or finding their sea legs aboard a cruise ship.

A recent assignment saw our fitters Colin and Rob meet up with a very Michael Barnett to climb aboard Saga’s Spirit of Adventure, where Indigo Art regularly assists with its rotating exhibitions.

With around 1,500 artworks aboard, the ship is a floating gallery and every new display calls for a crew who really know the ropes.

Centuries ago, indigo was one of the world’s most precious commodities. In fact, so valuable it became known as “blue gold”.

Today, Indigo is more than our name. It’s a team of designers with the Midas touch.

Taking an Encore: The Mytton and Mermaid 🧜

Some projects deserve another moment in the spotlight.

This time, we’re returning to The Mytton & Mermaid in Shrewsbury, one of the many distinctive pubs we’ve worked on through our long-standing relationship with Brunning and Price.

For this project, Indigo Art worked with Spatialized and the National Trust team at nearby Attingham Park to curate an artwork collection reflecting the history and heritage of the building. The scheme extended throughout the pub and into ten beautiful bedrooms, giving each space its own sense of character. From carefully chosen archive imagery to bespoke pieces created for their surroundings, every artwork helps tell another part of its story.

The Queen at Chester - a crowning achievement. 👑

The The Queen at Chester Hotel has become the first UK hotel to join the ALL Accor Handwritten Collection following an extensive renovation - and Indigo Art was delighted to play a part in its transformation.

Inspired by the hotel’s railway setting, its history, local maps and more than a few royal references, the artwork helps tell a story that could belong nowhere else but Chester.

A landmark hotel. A new chapter. And artwork fit for The Queen.
