Welcome to the wall alex / film photography
New York film photographer chasing the details that give a place its character. An old car in the right light, a crowded sidewalk under a grand façade, a storefront with a great awning. He is drawn to the city’s contradictions, yellow cabs against museum steps, food carts under ornate architecture, quiet streets a few blocks from chaos. He shoots film because it makes him slow down and commit to a frame without knowing how it will turn out. The grain and the imperfections are the point. Each photograph is a record of a moment, not a perfect copy of one.
New York. Tribeca. Nov 20 to 23.
Showing at Streeters Gallery.
