The gallery defines itself as “klein aber fein” (small but fine). Here you will find contemporary art with a focus on painting, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, graphics and other media. To anual open calls a reaching out to emerging artists worldwide. A strong example of our offering is our graphics department, which consists of a large selection of works by excellent international graphic artists.

We have chosen to support an active and dynamic dialogue between the International and German art scenes in Berlin, often done in collaboration with various galleries, museums and other cultural institutions. Through the years as our partnerships grow stronger, we are proud to have a broad selection of international contemporary art on display.

Both galleries in Berlin Friedrichshain (DE) and Kettinge on Lolland Falster(DK), in addition to its own artist studios on Lolland (DK), are owned and primarily managed by Heike Arndt. A significant note is that these galleries are run on a string of non-for-profit activities such as cultural events, workshops and meetups. This inclusive business strategy is an excellent framework for exhibitions as well as projects, workshops, research and professional growth in an international context. And has proven to be a strength to differentiate itself from more classical and commercial galleries.

Galleri Heike Arndt DK was founded in 1989 in Kettinge,Lolland Falster, Denmark, by the German-born artist, gallery owner and cosmopolitan Heike Arndt. Since 1989 she runs the gallery and related activities with great passion and success. In 2008, Galleri Heike Arndt DK Berlin opened in the old East German district of Berlin-Friedrichshain, an area where alternative and authentic Berlin is thriving. In 2016, after 10 years of hard work, Heike Arndt established Artlab Kettinge – a fantastic artist house. In 2019, a graphic workshop in Kettinge was refurbished.

Anja Höppner (DE)
German artist Anja Höppner creates lithographs and etchings of androgynous figures set against patterned, often minimalist backgrounds. Her protagonists appear lost in thought, their calm gazes turned away from the viewer, inviting quiet contemplation.
Extravagant headpieces inspired by marine life and subtle imaginary companions add a touch of surrealism, creating a tension between serene presence and fantastical elements. Höppner’s works encourage reflection, offering space to get lost in dreamlike imagery and the symbolic world of her characters.

Alexandra Sivov (FR/GB)
French-British artist Alexandra Sivov creates abstract monochrome linocuts using reduction techniques. Draped fabrics and textured surfaces appear in semi-transparent layers, forming dynamic compositions that transcend the physical reality of the objects.
Earth-toned silhouettes and naturalistic textures float over patterned, tactile backgrounds, where soft shapes meet sharp edges to create a visually rich surface. Sivov’s work explores the interplay of light, shadow, and texture, inviting viewers to navigate and interpret the changing abstract spaces.

Teodora Micic (RS)
Serbian artist Teodora Micic explores the delicate boundary between consciousness and memory through striking woodcut portraits. Her single-colour close-ups reveal figures both withdrawn and intensely present, inviting intimate yet unsettling encounters.
Micic’s prints meditate on dreams, forgetting, and the shaping of identity, using light, shadow, and the tactile grain of woodcut to convey vulnerability and psychological depth. Each portrait is a poetic reflection on memory, loss, and the act of self-reinvention.

Agata Kycia (PL)
Polish artist Agata Kycia explores linocut through abstract shapes and minimalistic compositions. Soft, two-dimensional forms contrast with sharp, radiating lines that ripple across the image like hypnotic repetitions. By carving into linoleum plates, she allows the negative space to become active, turning even the background into part of the composition.
Working with only two colours, Kycia embraces the imperfect edges of her shapes and the rhythmic traces of hand-carving. The rounded forms suggest symbolic references to the female body, while the radiating patterns evoke heat and energy, giving her minimalist works both intimacy and vitality.
