Galleri Heike Arndt Berlin International Contemporary Art Gallery
📍Berlin (DE)
📍Kettinge (DK)
Website: https://berlin.heike-arndt.dk/dk/
Webshop: https://webshop.heike-arndt.dk/

The gallery defines itself as “klein aber fein” (small but fine). Here you will find contemporary art with a focus on painting, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, graphics and other media. To anual open calls a reaching out to emerging artists worldwide. A strong example of our offering is our graphics department, which consists of a large selection of works by excellent international graphic artists.

We have chosen to support an active and dynamic dialogue between the International and German art scenes in Berlin, often done in collaboration with various galleries, museums and other cultural institutions. Through the years as our partnerships grow stronger, we are proud to have a broad selection of international contemporary art on display.

Both galleries in Berlin Friedrichshain (DE) and Kettinge on Lolland Falster(DK), in addition to its own artist studios on Lolland (DK), are owned and primarily managed by Heike Arndt. A significant note is that these galleries are run on a string of non-for-profit activities such as cultural events, workshops and meetups. This inclusive business strategy is an excellent framework for exhibitions as well as projects, workshops, research and professional growth in an international context. And has proven to be a strength to differentiate itself from more classical and commercial galleries.

Galleri Heike Arndt DK was founded in 1989 in Kettinge,Lolland Falster, Denmark, by the German-born artist, gallery owner and cosmopolitan Heike Arndt. Since 1989 she runs the gallery and related activities with great passion and success. In 2008, Galleri Heike Arndt DK Berlin opened in the old East German district of Berlin-Friedrichshain, an area where alternative and authentic Berlin is thriving. In 2016, after 10 years of hard work, Heike Arndt established Artlab Kettinge – a fantastic artist house. In 2019, a graphic workshop in Kettinge was refurbished.

Rita Quattrocchi paints moments that feel half‑remembered. Solitary figures and quiet animals drift through muted spaces where time seems to slow, as if a memory were gently resurfacing through fog. Her oil paintings carry remarkable emotional weight through the smallest gestures — a tilted head, a still hand, the attentive presence of an animal nearby. Nothing dramatic unfolds, yet each scene holds a tender mix of calm and melancholy. The restrained palette creates an atmosphere that feels almost whispered. Figures dissolve softly into their surroundings, suspended between reality and dream, intimacy and distance. Quattrocchi’s works feel less like stories and more like emotional echoes — fragile spaces where solitude, memory, and longing quietly coexist. Encountering these paintings in the gallery deepens this sensation. The subtle shifts of light, the softness of the brushwork, the quiet presence of the figures — everything unfolds slowly, inviting you to step closer and linger inside these intimate, dreamlike moments.

Discover the full lineup on our website: https://berlin.heike-arndt.dk/exhibitions/current-exhibition Find their works in our webshop: https://webshop.heike-arndt.dk/fresh-legs-exhibition-berlin/ Come visit us and experience Fresh Legs live in Berlin!

Clement Loisel paints interiors that feel like dreams you can almost touch but never fully explain. Solitary figures drift through dark rooms and collapsing spaces, suspended in a moment that hovers between performance and paralysis — as if a secret gesture has been frozen mid‑air. His scenes are constructed with architectural precision, yet the emotional atmosphere is anything but stable. Intimacy and distance blur. Reality slips toward hallucination. The figures feel present and unreachable at once, holding a tension that lingers long after you look away. These works don’t offer their stories directly. Instead, they pull you into a mood — a charged stillness, a quiet unease, a sense that something is about to shift. Experiencing them in person feels like stepping into a room where time has paused, inviting you to lean closer and sense what lies beneath the surface.

Here comes another wonderful artist from Fresh Legs 2026 — step into their world and discover even more on our website: https://berlin.heike-arndt.dk/exhibitions/current-exhibition Explore available works in our webshop: https://webshop.heike-arndt.dk/fresh-legs-exhibition-berlin/ And of course, visit us in Berlin to experience it all in person!

Trevor Burgess paints cities in their quietest, most cinematic moments — the moments we rarely stop to notice. Empty streets, silent façades, windows catching the last warm light of the day. Working in oil on plywood, he turns ordinary architecture into something unexpectedly emotional. Soft shadows drift across buildings, reflections settle into muted tones, and familiar streets begin to feel strangely intimate, as if the city were pausing to breathe. What makes these works so compelling is their stillness. There are no figures, yet human presence lingers everywhere: in a curtain drawn halfway, in a doorway left open, in the glow of a window that suggests someone just stepped out of the frame. The buildings feel like they’re holding stories — not telling them outright, but letting you sense them. Seen in the gallery, the surfaces shimmer gently, the colours deepen, and the quiet becomes almost physical. It’s the rare feeling of a city slowing down and becoming unexpectedly close.

Antonella Nicoli paints femininity as if it were a performance unfolding inside the restless pulse of the city. Her figures appear on buses and trains like vivid daydreams — oversized silhouettes, impossible poses, bodies stretched somewhere between confidence, parody, and sheer survival. Against the grit of urban textures, these women seem to glow. They are loud, theatrical, hyper‑visible, yet strangely vulnerable. Nicoli uses exaggeration the way pop culture does — pushing beauty, style, and attitude until the surface begins to crack. Her paintings hover between satire and tenderness, revealing the strange choreography of self‑presentation in public space. What first feels playful becomes something deeper: a reminder that the city is a stage, and identity is always being performed. Seeing these works in person feels like stepping into that stage — where every gesture, every colour, every distortion carries its own electric truth.

Selina Maren Meiers (DE)
German artist Selina Maren Meiers paints forests that feel suspended between fairytale, memory, and dream. Deep moss greens, soft filtered light, and dense landscapes surround quiet female figures who seem to emerge from nature itself. Her works feel intimate, mysterious, and gently uncanny, carrying the atmosphere of old folklore retold through a contemporary lens. Meiers’ paintings unfold like emotional landscapes where nature becomes both refuge and psychological space. Delicate brushwork and layered greens allow foliage, fabric, skin, and shadow to dissolve softly into one another, creating immersive worlds that feel comforting, melancholic, and quietly alive.

Fabio Valerio Tibollo (IT)
Italian artist Fabio Valerio Tibollo creates films that move between personal memory, collective history, and emotional transformation. In s/hE (Jean), identity unfolds through fragments of lived experience, drifting from the windswept coast of 1970s Brittany to the charged atmosphere of Occupy Wall Street era New York. Landscapes, protest movements, nightlife, desire, and reinvention merge into a fluid and deeply personal visual journey. Rejecting linear storytelling, Tibollo builds emotional worlds through fragments, gestures, and atmosphere. Masculine and feminine roles blur and reshape themselves, allowing identity to emerge as something unstable, intimate, and constantly evolving. Dreamlike and emotionally charged, his work lingers long after viewing.
