Established 1997 in Vancouver, Canada, the gallery represents established and emerging visual artists from across Canada, the USA, Japan, Mexico, Germany and The Netherlands. It brings together artists that explore similar themes and aesthetic approaches creating a relevant cross section of current interests and concerns. y mindset has altered nature and our relationship to it. Notably are organic references to nature’s influence, impact or unconscious message its presence plays on the individual artist or collector, or society as a whole. Together the works inform each other and provide a complex context for the reading of their individual perspectives. Since 2001, the gallery has participated in international art fairs in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Palm Springs, Toronto, and Miami. Babe Ruth was a left handed pitcher then a slugging outfielder as a professional baseball player from 1914-1935. He is regarded as one of the greatest sports heroes in American culture, considered by many to be the greatest  baseball player of all time. Matt Shlian creates a variety of paper assemblages and we are excited to have 4 new VAULTS. Wall mounted paper works at 15” and 20” diameter. Titles are the paper colors: Vault in Iridescent Vista & New Blue, in Steel Blue Paper with Fluorescent Spray Paint, in Gold and in Amazon. I am excited to showcase 6 new “Minis” Frizzle, Glow, Burn, Spark, Kindle, all around 9”x12” by Calgary-based Michelle Atkinson . Michelle sources extreme historical weather data, (here forest fires) re-interprets the grid seismograph, and creates 3D cloud-form compositions that can colours at different viewing angles. By hand crushing glass and creating layers of coloured acrylic resins, mirror, and paint, she takes disastrous weather stories and camouflages them into beautiful wall mounted sculptures and silkscreen series. William Betts has done it again! We have new additions to his FOREST painting Series.

JOIN US and MEET my newest artist, figurative painter SHELLEY ADLER. Art history has long been shaped by images of women created by men, often through what is known as the “Male Gaze.” While these works can be artistically powerful, they also influence how womanhood is represented. Canadian artist Shelley Adler offers a different perspective. Her women project confidence and presence, often meeting the viewer’s gaze and inviting a sense of connection.

Shelley Adler’s paintings of people’s faces are not portraits in the strict sense of the word as portraits are formulated primarily as likenesses of the sitter. Adler’s are often less about the sitter than the internal processes of the artist and her intense curiosity about people, about the ways of looking, and about the act of painting.

The recent night work from Japan and France by DAVID BURDENY returns to a work method he first explored in architecture school in the late ‘90s— made after class late at night. “Many of the early black-and-white images I showed with the gallery emerged from the same impulse, made in and around Vancouver’s periphery.
I’ve always been drawn to photographing at night, particularly in cities. Shadows move in unexpected ways. Colours reveal themselves as strange and luminous. And even the most restless places find a kind of stillness. Tokyo offered this most vividly—when the trains stop, whole districts slow and become silent.
