✨ Feeling grateful.
Luminous Stillness has found its new home through the 2026 April & May Curated Collection Exhibition by the Federation of Canadian Artists.

That makes two works sold from this exhibition — something I truly don’t take for granted.

This painting grew out of my fascination with light on water — that quiet moment when reflections soften into gold, violet, and blue, and everything feels suspended between movement and stillness.

I wasn’t trying to paint a place as much as a feeling:
when time slows down just enough for silence to become luminous.

💛My sincere thanks to the Federation Gallery, and to the collectors for bringing these works into their homes.

"Sunlight spills across the water, gently awakening the slumbering lotuses. A breeze stirs the ripples—it is nature’s tender morning call." 🌅

Congratulations to Dallas Deng and the client on the sale of "Morning Call"! This dazzling painting was featured in the 2025-2026 November, December & January Curated Collection. 🎉

✨ Happy to share that Pacific Ember has found its new home through the 2026 April & May Curated Collection.

This piece came from my fascination with West Coast light — not a sunset itself, but the feeling of standing before it.

Here, light doesn’t simply fade. It burns, shifts, dissolves into violets, embers, and molten gold.

I paint these moments not to record a place, but to hold a sensation — somewhere between fire and water, movement and stillness.

💛 Grateful to the Federation Gallery for this opportunity, and to the collector for giving this work a new home.

Passage Through Lion Gate Bridge, Original oil painting, 11″x14″ (27.9×35.5cm)

At dusk, Vancouver’s Lion Gate Bridge burns with orange, crimson, and violet light as a cruise ship moves quietly beneath it.

More than a scene, this painting became a feeling of passage — through light, atmosphere, and time.

Built with thick impasto and layered brushwork, I wanted the surface to carry both movement and stillness at once.

Happy to share this one.
Wonderful Bath
Original oil painting
Selected for the 2026 On the Edge Exhibition by the Federation of Canadian Artists.

This piece came from a quiet morning by a lake in Vancouver —
two white birds moving through light,
water gently shifting around them.

I remember being drawn to the small movements —
the ripples, the reflections,
how everything felt calm, but never still.

I kept the strokes short and rhythmic,
building up layers so the surface could carry that sense of motion.

It’s a simple scene,
but for me it was really about that feeling of release —
when everything slows down just enough to breathe.

I didn’t expect this one to go so quickly.
Golden Voyage, 14″ × 11″, oil on canvas

It started with that last bit of light at the end of the day —
when the sun is almost gone,
but the water is still holding onto it.

There’s always that moment where everything feels… softer.
Not bright, not dark — just in between.

I added the small boat later.
It felt necessary.
Something to carry that feeling forward,
instead of letting it just disappear.

Maybe that’s what this piece became for me —
not really about distance,
but about moving toward something quieter, more settled.

Just collected.
Homeward Boat, 14″ × 11″, oil on canvas

I didn’t think too much when I started this piece. Just that image of a small boat… moving slowly toward the last bit of light.

There’s something about that time of day — not dramatic, not loud, just quiet and certain.

The water catches the light in a soft way, almost like it’s guiding the way back.

Maybe that’s what I was painting without realizing it — that feeling of returning. Not just to a place, but to something more familiar, more settled inside.

Just collected.
Beneath the Sunset Glow
14″ × 11″, oil on canvas

I kept thinking about that moment just before the light disappears —
when everything softens, and the day doesn’t end so much as it settles.

A quiet figure stands by the water,
not really doing anything,
just present…
somewhere between letting go and holding on.

The colours came gently —
gold slipping into pink, then into lavender and amber —
like the sky dissolving rather than changing.
