Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site Historic site of fishing, canning and boat building operations in Steveston BC. Britannia Shipyards is open Tuesday-Sunday 12-4pm.

Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site is an authentic representation of a once thriving community of canneries, boat yards, residences and stores. The Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site Society is a group of volunteers who work to preserve west coast maritime history by promoting boat building traditions.

Silver Ann LEGO set custom created with authentic LEGO pieces by Steveston’s own Peter Grant ⚓️

The Silver Ann is the last wooden gillnetter built in the Richmond Boat Builders in 1969, by Japanese Canadian boat builder Sadajiro Asari.

The 418 piece set is suitable for 12+ years, and is on sale at Steveston Museum and Post Office.

Crystal S restoration project update - Michael, one of our dedicated workshop volunteers, has been busy helping prepare red cedar decking that will cover the main deck and cockpit areas.

He’s seen here creating a pattern for the covering board, which is the outermost decking piece and needs to be carefully notched around each hull rib.

🔈We’ve uncovered Silver Ann for the season and started up the engine for the first time this year. The boat is powered by the legendary Ford Industrial 300 inline six gas engine. This motor was once widely used in everything from pickup trucks to farm equipment. Silver Ann’s is in great shape, always easy starting, running smooth and quiet!
