A BIG Thank You to the family of Bertha Breau who donated $1000 in her memory to the Tabusintac Library & Museum.
We were joined today by her sons, Raymond & Donald Breau to honour her creativity. They spoke about her fiber art and what each creation depicted. Donald said she had a wonderful sense of humour and that her humour found its way into each piece.
Each piece tells a story of something or someone in her life. One special piece was her dream home with all her family gathered there together.
We first displayed her fiber art during OHW 2025 but wanted to show it again and have her family & friends with us.
A special thank you to Frank & Thelma Kenny who are the caretakers of these amazing works of art. We appreciate their kindness in sharing them with us.

We are honoured once again to be displaying the incredible fiber art of Madame Bertha Breau.
Bertha was a woman of many talents - a seamstress, a shopkeeper, a painter, fiber artist and a storyteller - but few knew the extent of her work until it was displayed during OHW 2025.
Her sons, Raymond and Donald (both talented in their own right) will join us on Saturday, August 1st from 1 to 3 p.m. to talk about their mother, her life and work.
Please join us.
A big thank you to Frank and Thelma Kenny for sharing the display once again. They have been the keeping these treasures safe in their home.
