Harcourt House is one of only four public galleries, and one of three artist-run centres in Edmonton. We deliver a host of services to both artists and the community – and act as an alternative location for the presentation, distribution and promotion of contemporary art. In our exhibition programming we seek both emerging and established artists to present work that aims to engage. The gallery an

nually presents a minimum of 10 five-week exhibitions, from local, provincial and national artists, collectives and arts organizations.

Abstraction Now – Harcourt’s Practitioners of Abstract Art + Guest Artists
Main Gallery, until June 20
This exhibition brings together artists from Edmonton and across Alberta whose practices explore colour-field, lyrical, minimalist, and geometric abstraction. Featuring works by Scott Cumberland, Darren Kooyman, Carla Lam, Sheila Luck, Mitchel Smith, Wiz Wensel, and guest artists Catherine Burgess, Peter Hide, and Seka Owen, the exhibition reflects the diversity and vitality of contemporary abstract art within the local context. Through painting and sculpture, the artists engage with form, colour, movement, and material experimentation while drawing from both modernist traditions and contemporary approaches.

Timothy Grieco: Not Solid
Haakonson Family Gallery
In this solo exhibition, Timothy Grieco presents eight new mixed-media works investigating transformation, repetition, and impermanence. Combining acrylic, collage, and recycled plastics, Grieco builds layered compositions that evoke cellular structures, cosmic formations, and energetic systems. The works suggest a reality in constant motion, where matter remains fluid, unstable, and continuously evolving.
