Almost finished the one hundredth final final revision of The Enchanted Darkness. October 2026.

This year I'm staying home.

Every year for the past ten years, I've attended a local writers' conference but this year I'm staying home.

- no more trying to prove myself
- no more trying to fit in
- no more thinking Facebook friends are IRL friends
- no more wishing I could've done more, been more, said more

Instead, I'm celebrating the weekend with caviar, dinner with friends and high tea with my golden girls.

I suggest you do the same.

Late nights.

On the weekends and days off work I used to start my mornings in the sunroom, make a chai, burn a papier d'Armenie, and turn on background noise - like thunderstorms or classical music- depending on my mood.

Somewhere the ritual slipped and I woke up and binge watched tv instead.

I became a consumer and not a creator.

Today I'm returning to ritual. Reclaiming myself and the muse within.
