Small Works Indoor Exhibition | 1–15 November 2026

As part of the opening celebrations for Perth Sky Sculpture Park, a special Small Works Indoor Exhibition will be held inside the main building at Perth Observatory from 1–15 November.

Curated by sculptors Denise Pepper and Jennifer Cochrane, this additional exhibition will feature more than 40 sculptures, each measuring no more than 90cm along its longest side.

The exhibition includes a $20,000 Acquisitive Award, supported by the City of Kalamunda through its developer Percent for Art fund. The winning artwork will become part of the City’s public art collection.

Glacier by James Parrett is looking at home in its new Perth Observatory bushland site - the location of Perth Sky Sculpture Park.

Newly arrived this 300kg steel sculpture, entitled M-Fifty, reflects Parrett’s constant desire to investigate the Aesthetic potential of the circular form.

Standing at 230cm high x 310cm wide, the work holds an imposing and yet settled appearance in its new space - as if made for the Australian bush and wide open skies.

Our site is beginning to transform as our first sculptures arrive ahead of Perth Sky’s 1st November public opening. 15 artworks installed and 35 to go.

We will be sharing photos of new arrivals as they settle into their new home to give you a taste of what’s to come with the opening of Western Australia’s newest outdoor cultural destination. Created by artist volunteers for artists, residents and visitors to our west coast home.

Let’s get ready to party! Families, we’re that excited about our upcoming grand opening on Sunday 1st November we’ve organised some extra special activities on the day for you to enjoy alongside our wonderful sculptures.

Enjoy kids activities and visit food trucks in celebration of our first day open- after all, it should be special... it’s day one!

On the 1st November at Perth Sky our very own team member Mindful Markings by Jocelyn Hobbs and our Perth Observatory volunteers will be hosting free kids sculpture making and STEM workshops.

We will also welcome Hillbellies Burgers, OMG Donuts and a coffee van to our Bickley Valley site to make sure you don’t go hungry! Alongside some funky tunes to set the fun vibe!

While the 1st November kids workshops are free, you will need tickets to enter the Sculpture Park - $15 Adults, $10 Concession and kids under 16 go free. Book online via the link in our bio to join us for our first day celebrations on 1st November.

The Lighthouse Keeper and his cat Lunar by are ready to say hello after they caught a lift in with our installation team last week.

Be among the first to meet this handsome chap and other sculptures - 60 in total at the Perth Observatory, which opens 1 Nov.
Circa 15 sculptures installed, 35 to go ahead of opening.

Come discover Alessandra Rossi’s Coral (I am always connected) Alessandra Rossi at Perth Sky Sculpture Park from 1st November when we open for public visitation.

Another of our newly installed sculptures this week ahead of our grand opening, the sculpture is an exploration of coral bleaching as both an ecological and human condition.

Rossi is a Fremantle, Western Australia based artist, who spent her formative years in Venice, Italy. Photos of Coral at its new bushland home at the Perth Observatory courtesy of the artist. Our resident kangaroos have some new friends!

This beautiful sculpture by Fremantle artist, Jina Lee was the first of new works to be installed at Perth Sky this week - ahead of our opening 1st November!

Pictured here, Jina joined our hard working, small installation team, at our Perth Observatory site as her sculpture was installed.

After installing this sculpture, the team began the big job on installing the remainder of the first wave of sculpture arrivals of works selected for Perth Sky’s inaugural exhibition and acquisitive awards.

A special freight delivery from our sponsor, KTrans, arrived yesterday with a large truck full of sculptures from the East Coast and South Australia!
