To be honest we don't spot many snakes in our ventures out in nature so when we do it's an opportunity to get a few pictures.

This beautiful Tiger Snake was sunning himself on the edge of the lake at Perth Wildlife Hospital and immediately took to the water as we approached. I literally didn't even see him until he was swimming away and only managed to grab a few shots of him before he disappeared into the foliage bordering the lake.

I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised on viewing the image at home, not only did I get a nice shot of the Tiger Snake showing off his incredible colours but also noticed a passenger sat on his head 👍🤣

We were in the Black Cockatoo birdhouse at Perth Wildlife Hospital this week and got to meet and photograph some amazing birds.

This Carnaby's Black Cockatoo was happily snoozing on a metal beam by the wire wall and opened his eye to peak at me.

The challenge in photographing wildlife in an enclosure is the often lack of a natural background when you want to turn images into art.

Thankfully with a little Photoshop magic (and years of practice) it's possible to turn a beautiful Cockatoo with a bland background into something way more interesting and appealing.

Part proceeds from the sale of any prints / products we create from our images taken at PWH are donated back to PWH 👍
