ÀṢÀ / UMUCO celebrates culture, connection and identity through the work of artists Mohammed ‘Ayo Busari’ and Aline Akundwanayo. Through sound, imagery, poetry, collage and projection, the exhibition explores African heritage, personal histories from Nigeria and Burundi, and what it means to carry culture across borders Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and stories of ÀṢÀ / UMUCO at the Zig Zag Gallery.

Step into a vibrant celebration of culture, history and identity. Through archival and contemporary images, projected imagery, bold prints and collage, this exhibition brings stories of belonging, tradition and resilience to life.

Enter a world of humour, hope & persistence

Beingbaker’s work, The Sea Cure, explores themes of chronic illness, societal expectations and the pressure to continually strive for improvement despite the personal cost. Using the beach as a stage, the artist took inspiration from actions associated with historic medical advice for ailments of unknown origins.
