Meet the artists!

Judy Kuo is an Asian-Australian artist-activist and unionist living on Wurundjeri land. They are passionate about worker power, anti-racism, disability justice and refugee rights. Judy's values and politics feature strongly in their work and guide how they use their art practice to show up in their communities. Through their illustrations, they hope to show support, solidarity and collective hope.

Judy's exhibition, Not a fine artist, just a 'fine' artist, continues at the Gallery until 19 July.

Meet the artists!

Nani Puspasari’s art practice explores the narratives between childhood memories, identity, migration, and cultural hybridity in contemporary life, aiming to communicate feelings of innocence, anxiety, loss, and sorrow. She is inspired by the vibrant colours and intricate patterns of traditional Asian art, as well as the bold, expressive forms of Western art.

Nani holds a Master of Fine Art from RMIT University and has exhibited in Australia and internationally. She has undertaken artist residencies in South Korea, Austria, and Japan, and has been selected as a finalist in the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize and Muswellbrook Art Prize.

Nani's exhibition, Things I Carried Quietly, continues at the Gallery until 19 July.

Judy Kuo’s playful and witty drawings will make you laugh while reflecting on the realities of being an artist.

Featuring 130 marker drawings, this series responds humorously to the social and commercial expectations placed on artists. This project embodies the artist’s failure to live up to these expectations, not as a tragedy, but as an inside joke shared among struggling artists.

On display until 19 July.
