Victoria’s practice explores contemporary revisions of traditional oil landscape painting through memory, fantasy and speculative seeing. Drawing from traditional Australian landscapes, she interrogates inherited colonial framings of land that privilege order and science.
With a background in cultural materials conservation, she is aware of the impossibility of fully preserving experience. Rather than seeking fidelity or documentation, her work embraces the fallibility of memory and the poetic potential of misremembering. Landscape becomes a living archive, mutable, and subjective where preservation is not about fixing meaning, but encouraging it to linger and reform.
Victoria is also a co-director at VD.
