For one day only, the historic Geelong Gaol opens its doors to a gathering of the curious, the creative, and the unconventional.

The Dark Arts Expo is an immersive event that brings together artists, makers, and practitioners whose work explores the darker edges of history, storytelling, and imagination. Set within one of Victoria’s most atmospheric heritage sites, the experience is shaped not only by what you see—but by where you stand.

Recognise this car? It’s tied to none other than Roger Rogerson, the notorious cop turned killer with one of Australia’s darkest criminal histories.

Come see it up close — it’ll be on display in the forecourt of the gaol tomorrow.

\🕯️ Tomorrow, we'll meet you at the Sanctum of Curiosities stall – where art, anatomy and history intertwine.
These talented souls merge the macabre and the marvellous in a stunning collection of one-of-a-kind taxidermy and historical oddities.
Discover framed insects, small mammals in domes, full mounts and eerie replicas such as vampire slaying kits. Their displays delve into the darker side of history – from plague doctors and the Black Death to notorious medical, and criminal, moments.
Sanctum of Curiosities also prepare their own skulls, create anatomically correct human replicas and curate antique scientific and historical paper packs – all authentic and copyright-free.
Explore 's range of relics, quills, butterfly wings and other beautifully preserved curiosities tomorrow at the Geelong Gaol Dark Arts Expo.
