The Minolta XD-7 was the first camera to offer Shutter-priority, Aperture-priority and manual exposure modes. A semi-professional camera that set the benchmark in the early 1970s for affordable quality. Minolta lenses are super sharp - Leica commissioned Minolta to make their first zoom lenses and collaborated with Minolta on the CL cameras.
This kit comes with a Minolta Rokkor MD 35-70 f3.5 zoom lens, as well as a 50mm f1.4 standard lens - one of the sharpest lenses made. The kit also includes the MD winder for automatic film advance, a Braun auto flash, leather camera case, carry strap, case for the MD winder, protection filters for both lenses, two lens caps, rear lens cap, period brochures and instruction books for the camera and the winder.
The camera is in overall very good condition, with no bumps or scratches. The light seal on the back has deteriorated a bit, as would be expected from age, but is not causing any light leaks. The camera has been film-tested with no problems, correct exposures, even frame spacing and all functions operating as they should. (see sample pics - shot on 30-year-old HP5, so a bit of base fog, low contrast and high grain - but that's due to the film, not the camera). The lenses are in excellent condition, with no fungus, scratches or internal dust or marks.
This is an excellent kit for anyone starting out in film photography, or upgrading from an older SRT manual camera.
Collect from Geelong or post at buyer's expense. 30-day money-back warranty. NB: warranty does not apply if camera is posted - insurance with Aus Post at buyer's expense is recommended.
