On Saturday we installed It’s the Little Things at Holeywood.

As we chose each artwork over the two-week submission period, and I packed them into waterproof tubs, assuming we had maybe 50 artists total.

Ten hours of unpacking, cataloguing (thanks to the heroic ) and hanging later, we discovered we were very wrong.

There are now OVER 100 ARTISTS in the exhibition.

As my mum would say: “Hell’s bells.”

Still more to do, but somehow we’re on schedule for the opening: Sat 30 May, 6–8pm, Holeywood at

Coinciding with the × Street Fair on Foster Street. Come say hi & get some culture into ya.

Sincerity feels passé these days, but here we go in any case.

I built Holeywood, the pegboard gallery inside the for 3 reasons:

1 I was bored.

2 I was tired of making art that felt useless and wanted to make something functional.

3 I was lonely and hoped it’d help me make friends.

So I spent the past two years slowly transforming the hotel’s old smokers’ lounge, which had become a graveyard of broken furniture, into a piece of art that’s a place to make & show art.

If you want to see the result, the opening of Holeywood’s first ever show is 30 May, 6–8pm (the same night Vivid takes over the neighborhood).

Or drop by over the two weeks that follow, Tues–Sat, 6–8pm.

Cheers,

I should’ve entered this portrait in the into the this year but I was too busy organizing the group show at (which opens 30 May). It’s our accountant, who I call Mr. Maraschino because he likes those cherries in his cocktails.

On Sat night I held a sneak preview of Holeywood, the little art space I’ve been quietly (& slowly) building out the back of the for the past 18 months.

For decades the tiny space was originally the pub’s smokers’ lounge, but as people started puffing outside instead, it became a hidden graveyard for broken furniture.

Then, with the owner’s blessing and the help of collaborators, I transformed it into Holeywood: an art gallery and studio clad entirely in pegboard.

Holeywood is a piece of art in which to create & show art. A gallery in a pub. A holey space.

Thank you to everyone who came by for a squizz & a cold one. Our first group show is brewing. If you’d like your work to be considered, pls DM me.

Big shout-out to my collaborators: Geoffrey of , Henry / & .mullen.artist
Also to & the awesome HH staff.
