Kube finds aesthetic value not in the imitation of landscape, but in engaging with the materiality of nature - its tactile and resistant reality.

Inspired by the methodology and virtue of the Old Masters - extensive grinding, washing, sieving, and a lavish process of extraction into pigment, often time-consuming highly valued process for maintaining the integrity of delicate mineral compounds. The choice of minerals are obtained from multiple continents - Afghanistan, Southern France to Australia and Peru - coincide with his rigorously observant practice and patience, Kube´s analysis in their own specific aesthetic properties are examined.

Weatherworks is on view this weekend and until May 30.

Pleased to announce the collaboration between CHAUFFEUR x . Join us for the opening reception May 9, 3-5pm for Timo Kube’s fourth solo exhibition Weatherworks. The exhibition is open from May 6, Wednesday to Saturday 1-5pm.

Following on is the complete thematic reversal of Hollywood stylised glamour. “Breakfast At Tiffany’s After Tiffany’s Querelle” curated by Tom Craft includes new paintings by Sydney artists Sasha Hart, Adrick Lui, Lexi Stephenson and Jezmina Strike June 3 - 20.

Moreover is the first solo exhibition in Sydney by Japanese artist Shohei Takasaki June 24 - July 11. Another trailblazing artist working under the radar in Sydney. Takasaki is represented by Tokyo and Taipei.
