Yubu Napa Art Gallery The Premier Gallery in Alice Springs! With studio, gift shop. Something for locals and visitors alike. Authentic and ethical Australian Aboriginal Art.

Yubu Napa Art Studio is situated in Alice Springs in the Red Centre of Australia’s Northern Territory. The gallery and studio is open to the public to view our collection of traditional and contemporary modern Australian Aboriginal artwork. Whilst visitors are in our studio, they may have the rare privilege to meet some of the artists responsible for creating these beautiful pieces (depending on who is in the studio with us on any given day). This provides a chance for visitors to Alice Springs to leave our town with a better understanding of the art and the stories behind them. Yubu Napa is a Bulgul phrase from the Top End of the Northern Territory which has a double meaning. It means both to do the right thing and beautiful. Yubu Napa Art Studio is dedicated to providing the best quality art possible whilst ensuring the Artists that work with us are treated well and paid fairly. We encourage artists to try new styles and stories, which allows our studio to stock some of the most original contemporary artworks available.

A new major work has just left the studio.
183 × 122 cm. More than two weeks at the canvas. Every passage built by hand, dot by dot.

Fab has finished a large monochrome painting with the surface reading as movement: fine white dots over a black background flowing out from a single gathering point and opening across the full width of the linen. Up close the mark-making is tight and deliberate. From a step back it holds as one continuous field.

This is the kind of work serious collectors look for. Substantial scale, a sustained period of making, and a surface that rewards slow looking. Fab was in the studio with visitors while the painting was still in progress, talking through the work as it came together. It is now complete and available for acquisition.

Dimensions: 183 cm × 122 cm
Medium: acrylic on linen
Artist: Fabrianne Peterson Nampitjinpa

A major srtwork is underway this week.

Fabrianne Peterson Nampitjinpa
Wangunu (Damper Seed)
183 × 122 cm
Acrylic on linen
Painted at Yubu Napa, Alice Springs.

This is the scale and the series that established her. The black field, the white seed-forms, the gradated dotting that reads as both plant and flame — that is her language.

Collectors who know the work will recognise it immediately; those who have only seen the smaller canvases will see what happens when she is given room.
Wangunu is not a motif. It is a woman’s harvesting story from the arid country around Central Australia: woollybutt grass after summer rain, branches burnt over cool ash, seeds gathered in the coolamon, ground with water into damper that keeps. Fabrianne has painted that story for decades. Large examples in this tight monochrome are the ones that leave the studio least often, where smaller examples are often purchased before they are even finished or dry.
This canvas is still on the floor. It will be photographed, catalogued, and offered privately once it is complete.
Serious enquiries: message the page or email the gallery. We will send dimensions, verso details, and high-resolution images when the work is complete.
Fabrianne Peterson Nampitjinpa (b. 1965, Papunya)
Signature series. Studio provenance.

Yubu Napa Art Gallery is very proud to announce our nomination in the 2026 Northern Territory Business and Export Awrds.
What an honour to be recognised for sharing the amazing artworks of Central Australia with our international visitors, and allow the artists who create these stunning works to tell their own story with the world!
Weather we bring home the Gold or not, we are so proud just to be a part of our towns history and feel so lucky to be able to do what we do here.
