We are pleased to share that Sara Aref Ahli is participating in the 12th Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial, Mizan (Balance), with Barzakh, presented alongside Farída Steit.

On view until 15 November 2026, the biennial brings together artists exploring the expressive possibilities of calligraphy and its connections to language, form, and meaning.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Wednesday night for the opening of ‘What We Carry Becomes the Terrain’, a solo exhibition by Bénédicte Gimonnet, and for the first look at our newly renovated space.

The exhibition follows Gimonnet’s return to Peru, bringing together paintings, screen prints, drawings and textile works in which fabrics gathered from Peru, France and the UAE are stitched through with Talli, the metallic thread embroidery traditional to the Emirates. Where two fabrics meet, the seam is left visible, acting as both a scar and a bridge.
