Colour becomes form. Light reveals its depth.

Through extroflection—the outward shaping of the canvas—Omar Ludo creates sculptural surfaces where rounded forms catch light and cast real shadows. New contours emerge as you move, inviting you to look closer.

What if sculpture were the one to encounter us? ✨

In San Quirico d’Orcia, Gianfranco Meggiato’s works do not wait to be observed. They appear.

Between a tree and a path, beyond an architectural structure, within the silence of a landscape that seems to have existed forever. 🌿

Contemporary matter momentarily interrupts what is familiar, compelling us to look again.

This is one of the most powerful impressions conveyed by IN ITINERE – Quantum Man on the Move: not an exhibition to be experienced simply by following a route, but rather a sequence of encounters.

Light travels across the surfaces, the landscape enters through the openings of the sculptures, and nature continuously transforms what we see. As we move around the works, the works themselves begin to alter our perception of the place.

Here, Meggiato does not occupy the landscape.
He sets it in motion.

And perhaps this is precisely the meaning of IN ITINERE: to remind us that no gaze ever truly remains still.

Some places we pass through.
Others somehow pass through us.

In San Quirico d’Orcia, matter meets landscape, silence, and time.

And for a moment, everything seems to fall into place. 🌿

GUSTAVO VÉLEZ | THE SHAPE OF MOVEMENT

The sculpture of Gustavo VĂŠlez emerges from a tension between the solidity of matter and the sense of movement that seems to flow through it.
Marble, bronze and steel gradually shed their weight. Surfaces unfold through curves, twists and openings, while light and void become an integral part of the form itself.

Born in MedellĂn, VĂŠlez found in Pietrasanta a pivotal place for his artistic research, where the great Italian sculptural tradition encounters a distinctly contemporary sensibility.

In his works, geometry does not seek static perfection: it stretches, opens and shifts with the viewer’s gaze.
Matter remains.

Perception moves.

At the Sant’Agostino complex, history is not a backdrop: it shapes the way we see.

The fourteenth-century church, with its restrained Tuscan Gothic character, and the cloister, defined by columns, arches and the seventeenth-century lunettes by Astolfo Petrazzi, create a setting of rigor and measure.

Within this space, the sculptures of Gustavo Vélez Escultor introduce a different tension. Marble and metal become fluid, ascending forms, where torsion, polished surfaces and daring balances seem to challenge the weight of the material itself.

Vélez’s work moves constantly between solidity and movement, transforming mass into rhythm.

Between the order of historic architecture and the energy of contemporary sculpture, a dialogue of forms, weight and tension emerges.
