Meet Alex Nazarchuk, an impressionist painter drawn to fleeting moments of light and atmosphere.

His work is shaped by a sensitivity to place through loose, spontaneous brushstrokes. Often painted en plein air, his landscapes observe the shifting dialogue between light, shadow, and environment, with many works capturing familiar scenes across Dubai.
A selection of his works are now on view at Total Arts.

Image 1 City in Haze, 2022, acrylic on canvas, 60 x 60 cm
Buildings emerge through a dense wash of colour, with form dissolving into a hazy, almost abstracted skyline.

Image 2 Night Deira, 2021, acrylic on canvas, 50 x 60 cm
A night scene animated by passing cars and streetlights, capturing the movement and density of the city after dark.

Image 3 Old City and New City, 2023, acrylic on canvas, 90 x 90 cm
A layered cityscape where older structures sit against a more contemporary skyline, softened through warm, atmospheric tones.

Image 4 Plain Air at Jumeirah, 2021, acrylic on canvas, 50 x 40 cm
A quiet coastal scene, where architecture and landscape are held together through shifting light and colour.

Déjà Vu, a multi-gallery exhibition conceived by Alserkal (), opening at Concrete on Saturday, 25 April at 4 PM.

Total Arts is pleased to participate by presenting SH-OBT, a video work by Dariush Zandi (.zandii), executed in 2026 based on an archival photograph from 1985 and a drawing from the same period. Reflecting the fragmented nature of memory, the work forms a dialogue between past and present, where traces of what once stood are reassembled through perception rather than physical reconstruction. It suggests that memory is neither fixed nor complete, but continually reshaped—layered, obscured, and reinterpreted over time.

Déjà Vu is inspired by Raed Yassin’s neon work Déjà Vu (2016), and unpacks the absurdity of repeated cycles, historical misalignment, memory glitches, and slippages in language.

The exhibition is curated by Kevin Jones (), Nada Raza (), and Zaina Zaarour ().
On view from 25 April until 8 May 2026
Concrete, Alserkal Avenue, Dubai

Meet Mobina Tazerjani, a multidisciplinary artist whose work is deeply rooted in nostalgic memories of growing up in Iran’s Hormozgan Province.
Using humble materials like palm tree leaves, chip packets, and sand, she transforms everyday elements into resin sculptures, mixed-media paintings, and installations that reflect the intimacy and quiet poetry of life in a fishermen’s city.

Image 1: Back Pain
Lace and acrylic on palm tree leaves
95 cm diameter
A depiction of a familiar ritual in many Iranian households: children walking across their father’s back to ease the strain of a long day’s work. The work reflects a tender moment of familial care expressed through everyday gesture.

Image 2: TV Time
Lace and acrylic on palm tree leaves
95 cm diameter
A young girl watches Judy Abbott, a beloved dubbed cartoon widely broadcast across the Gulf region decades ago. The scene captures a quiet domestic moment—feet on the table, eyes fixed on an old box television—echoing shared memories of childhood.

Mr. Ramesh Shukla, a friend of Total Arts and the Courtyard, was a frequent and welcome presence in our space over the years.
Through his lens, his images became part of the nation’s visual memory.
His warmth, humility, and deep connection to the cultural fabric of the UAE will remain with our community.
