Here is an excerpt about Daniel Hoyt's service and untimely death in the name of Independence.

Thank you to the 350 people who came out throughout the day last Saturday to celebrate history at the Colonial Encampment with the 5th CT Regiment.

A special thank you to Tom Angels and the 5th CT Regiment and their incredible team of living historians.

A special thank you to the historic trades people:
- Spinner: Terri Guerette
- Blacksmith: Chip Sowalski
- Axe Historian: Michael McBride, President of the American Axe Preservation Society
Weaver: Chelsea Danburg

Thank you to the Roger Sherman Branch of the Sons of the American Revolution for donating and dedicating our Liberty Tree in honor of Rev. War veteran, Isaac Godfrey of Weston.

This event could not have been possible without our wonderful team of WHCC volunteers and executive director. It takes a village to produce these large events. Thank you for your time and effort in making this an incredible experience.

Thank you to the Weston America 250 Advisory Group and its sponsors for providing funding for this event.

We loved seeing people of all ages and from all over CT engage with history at the Weston History & Culture Center. Join us again! 5th Connecticut Regiment Connecticut Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Chip Sowalski Michael McBride

As we begin our new fiscal year, we are focused on providing exceptional programs, engaging the community, and continuing to be a historical resource with objects, records, photos, deeds, textiles, newspaper clippings, catalogs, and other ephemera in our climate controlled vault.

At the Weston History & Culture Center we are delighted this Spring to welcome a most informative exhibit, "Sarah Treadwell, Connecticut Mom, American Patriot" in the Visitors Center. Visitors are also experiencing life in the 1940’s in the Coley House and engaging in the exhibit Weston at Work, in the Coley Barn. And we were thrilled to see a record attendance at our Colonial Encampment Day commemorating the 250th anniversary of our country!

Thank you for your continued support!
