Cross-stitch came to America from Europe and quickly became part of what every girl was required to learn. The most popular form was a sampler: a piece of embroidered fabric that cross-stitching to illustrate alphabets and numbers as well as houses, flowers, and even people. Flow Into Cursive!

Ever wish you could unlock the secrets of historic documents? Learn how to read (and write) vintage handwriting the Museum

Schools are bringing cursive back! It’s how we wrote for centuries but many young people never learned it. Across the country, there is a new movement to reclaim it and teach it. Cursive is more than just an art. Learning it helps strengthen fine motor skills, improves memory, and helps kids process information faster. Writing in cursive actually activates neural pathways connected to both memory and language. It trains the brain to recognize letter patterns in a way which boosts spelling and reading. Using cursive can even help kids generate more ideas and help them better understand what they are learning.

So come and get into the flow! Come to a cursive workshop and learn how to use it! Materials supplied.

Introducing our new series: Women's History Wednesdays! 🎉

A tribute to the women whose achievements, stories, and resilience have shaped the world. Pause and discover legacies that deserve to be remembered.

📖 This week we honor Phillis Wheatley, the first African American woman to publish a book of poetry. One of the earliest published Black writers, Wheatley used verse to explore liberty, morality, faith, and the human condition.

Her story highlights the harsh legal realities enslaved women faced during the Revolutionary era: deprived of control over their bodies, children, and work, some sought freedom by fleeing to British lines while others remained bound to support Patriot households.
