We are a month away from Ruth Fitton’s workshop, Expressive Portrait Painting!

This virtual workshop is available through Atelier Live. Join us as Ruth paints a fully developed portrait from life, beginning with a strong narrative composition, through to refining a precise likeness. We will study the use of color mixing and edge-work to create an exciting illusion of form, and brushwork as a means of portraying character. Ruth will begin each day with a lecture explaining her process and the approach she will take in her demonstration.

WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT | We are thrilled to announce that Ruth Fitton will be coming in October for another portraiture workshop!

This boutique workshop will explore expressive portrait painting, available both in-person and online. In-person spots are very limited!

The course will focus on the creation of a fully developed portrait from life, beginning from a strong narrative composition, through to refining a precise likeness.

WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT | We are thrilled to announce our upcoming workshop with Timothy Rees! “A Color Forward Approach to Painting the Figure” will be a 4-day boutique workshop presenting Timothy’s unique, color forward method of painting figures. Participants will learn how to navigate the complexity of the human form, balancing the articulation of anatomy against the vivid color of impressionist painting to marriage the two traditionally separate schools of thought.
