“Bird’s Song” by Ray Tigerman

Richly layered, beautifully textured and alive with color, Bird’s Song invites you to look closer. Ray Tigerman builds the surface with layers of paint and copper leaf, creating a textural work that changes as the light moves across it.

From a distance, the feathers create a striking, almost totemic presence. Up close, an entirely different world emerges—brilliant color, metallic passages, unexpected marks and extraordinary texture.

Art has a wonderful way of reminding us to slow down, look closer and find beauty in the details.

The Anna’s hummingbird has officially been designated Sedona’s city bird — making Sedona the first city in Arizona to adopt an official city bird.

Sedona is a particularly magical place for hummingbirds. Each year, the Sedona Hummingbird Festival, hosted by the International Hummingbird Society, celebrates these remarkable birds during the height of their summer migration.

These beautiful moments were captured by Goldenstein Gallery artist and photographer Betty Hum, whose fascination with light and movement has taken her around the world. Betty spends countless hours quietly observing birds, allowing them to become comfortable with her presence and waiting patiently for that extraordinary instant when movement, light and nature come together.

We are delighted to celebrate Sedona’s newest official resident ambassador through Betty Hum’s lens. ❤️

We are honored to celebrate Goldenstein Gallery artist James Cook, whose richly textured American landscapes are currently on exhibition at MacArthur House, the historic U.S. Ambassador’s Residence in Tokyo, Japan, through the U.S. Department of State’s Art in Embassies program.

Selected for the 2026 exhibition by U.S. Ambassador to Japan George E. Glass and Mrs. Mary Glass, Cook’s paintings capture the extraordinary beauty of the American landscape—from shimmering mountain lakes and reflections to the grandeur of the West.

James and his wife, DeAnn Melton, recently joined Ambassador and Mrs. Glass at MacArthur House, where his work provides a beautiful backdrop for cultural exchange and diplomacy between the United States and Japan.

For more than six decades, Art in Embassies has shared American art with audiences around the world, demonstrating the unique ability of art to transcend borders and create connection.

We are incredibly proud to represent James and to see his paintings sharing the beauty of the American landscape on an international stage. 🇺🇸🇯🇵
