Hard to imagine that the “Jeweled Macchia” began as a clear glass bubble, isn’t it? The bubble was heated and shaped, with layer upon layer of colored glass chips (frit) applied and blown out to its final form—each color eclipsing the next to produce rich depth and dimension. The result is a sculpture that appears to glow with internal luminosity.

One “Macchia” invites a closer look. A forest of them changes the conversation entirely. At “Chihuly Garden and Glass,” the “Macchia Forest” transforms individual sculptures into an immersive field of color, form, and light.

“Persians”, a series Chihuly began developing in 1986 are a wild, lyrical suspension of motion. The 2025 “Green Apple Persian” Studio Edition is no exception introducing an exploration of vibrant green hues from Kelly to chartreuse. Spotlight in glass 🔎

Winter Brilliance. This piece is a joyful expression of both its namesake season and Chihuly's desire to present his work in unexpected and dramatic ways. The ice-like forms were developed in 1996 for Chihuly's first permenant outdoor installation- "Icicle Creek Chandelier" in Leavenworth Washington.
