An Art Glass Gallery Specializing in Paperweights and Related Items

I’ll also be bringing several exciting new paperweights by contemporary glass artist Damon MacNaught to Texas next weekend!

These striking examples are from Damon’s latest series, inspired by the intricate stained glass windows of Gothic cathedrals. Combining his mastery of murrine with architectural patterns and vibrant colors, Damon has created a fascinating new interpretation of the traditional paperweight form.

I’ll have these and many other antique and contemporary paperweights available to view and purchase at the upcoming Paperweight Collectors Association (PCA) Texas Annual Meeting in Cypress, Texas.

This beautiful Daniel Salazar orchid paperweight will be coming with me to Texas!

I’ll be bringing a selection of antique and contemporary paperweights to the Paperweight Collectors Association’s upcoming meeting in Cypress, Texas, on Saturday, October 24.

We’ll be joined by featured glass artist Stephen Boehme, who will share insights into his work and creative process. I’ll also be giving a presentation titled The Collector and the Machine: Collecting Paperweights in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.

You don’t have to be a paperweight collector to appreciate the extraordinary artistry that goes into making these little works of glass!

On October 24, the Paperweight Collectors Association of Texas will be holding its annual meeting in Cypress, just outside Houston, and everyone is welcome.

It’s an opportunity to see beautiful antique and contemporary paperweights up close, meet collectors and artists, learn a little about the history of the art form, and perhaps discover a new interest.

I’ll be joining the group as a guest dealer and speaker, along with contemporary glass artist Stephen Boehme, whose remarkable murrine work is something to see in person.

Whether you’re an experienced collector or simply curious about glass art, we’d love to have you join us!

THE COLLECTOR AND THE MACHINE: Collecting Paperweights in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Does artificial intelligence have a place in the world of paperweight collecting?

It’s a question that may generate some debate!

Join me on October 24 at the PCA Texas Annual Meeting in Cypress, Texas, as we explore the possibilities, challenges, and perhaps even controversies surrounding the growing role of AI in our hobby.

We’ll examine the tools available to collectors, their potential for research and attribution, and the opportunities they offer for building community and expanding awareness of the art form.

We’ll also put AI to the test, challenging several leading AI platforms to identify a selection of glass paperweights. How well will they perform? Where will they succeed, and where will they fall short?

Can artificial intelligence become a valuable tool for collectors, or are there limits to what technology can offer in a field built on knowledge, experience, and expertise?
