Archival Internship Opportunity

The Portuguese Historical Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Archival Intern to assist with the preservation and organization of our historical collections.

We encourage applications from individuals currently pursuing studies in Library and Information Science, Archival Studies, History, or related fields, as well as those with relevant experience in archival work, libraries, museums, or historical preservation.

This opportunity offers hands-on experience working with historical photographs, documents, artifacts, and other archival materials while contributing to our mission of preserving San Diego’s Portuguese history and heritage for future generations.

Flexible scheduling is available, with opportunities for volunteer hours or internship credit.

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating the Portuguese Historical Center’s 5th Annual Fall Luncheon & Fashion Show!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for an afternoon of fabulous fashions, delicious food, and 1950s Rock ’n’ Roll fun!

We are incredibly grateful to our guests, models, volunteers, donors, and everyone who helped make this event possible. Your generosity, hard work, and continued support mean so much to the Portuguese Historical Center.

Thank you for making this year’s Fashion Show such a memorable occasion! We hope everyone had as much fun as we did, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!

Join us for an evening exploring The History of the Portuguese in San Diego and the rich legacy of our Portuguese community.

The Point Loma Assembly welcomes our PHC President, Evelyn Barandiaran, for a special presentation highlighting the history and contributions of the Portuguese in San Diego.

Guests will also enjoy a Portuguese w**e tasting and appetizers provided by The Portuguese Market.

Today marks one year since we began praying our Community Rosary together.

This special tradition began when past PHC President and Board Member Zeca Rodrigues was terminally diagnosed, bringing our community together in prayer during an incredibly difficult time.

It feels especially meaningful that this one-year anniversary falls on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, as Zeca was deeply devoted to the Blessed Mother.

Over the past year, we have continued to gather in faith, prayer, and community, carrying on something that began with such a special purpose.

We invite you to join us tonight at 7pm for our Community Rosary. Whether you have prayed with us throughout the past year or would like to join us for the first time, all are welcome.
