This Saturday, gather with us in the Studio Yard for "W**d is a Word," a site-responsive project by artist Julia Barbosa Landois. 🌱

At the center of the project, a garden reintroduces native and beneficial plants often dismissed or “weeded out” of contemporary landscapes, inviting us to consider how ideas of belonging, beauty, and value are shaped by what we choose to preserve or remove.

Join us for a free, all-ages community picnic and an opportunity to meet the artist, spend time in the garden, and experience the work together. Enjoy complimentary tea from and bites from , inspired by plants found in our local landscape.

Scenes from the opening of Generative “Disruption: Feminist Art from the Collection.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the exhibition walkthrough and opening reception, and to the artists, collaborators, and community members who helped mark the occasion.

“Generative Disruption” brings together works from the Linda Pace Foundation Collection to consider how feminist ideas and practices continue to shape contemporary art.

The exhibition is on view through August 29, 2027.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jan Jarboe Russell, a dear friend of Linda Pace and an important part of the Linda Pace Foundation’s history.

A gifted journalist and author, Jan’s curiosity, generosity, and commitment to storytelling left a lasting mark on San Antonio and far beyond. Her connection to the Foundation was deeply personal. As one of Linda’s closest friends, Jan served on the Linda Pace Foundation Board and, for a time, stepped in as Interim Director, helping steward Linda’s vision and legacy.

We are grateful for Jan’s friendship, leadership, and the many ways she shaped our community. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed. 🕊️🤍

Congratulations to Vincent Valdez, named a 2026 MacArthur Fellow!

Vincent Valdez is among this year’s MacArthur Fellows, recognized for his work depicting historical and present-day scenes that reflect Latino experiences and contemporary life in the United States.

Printer’s proofs of stone lithographs by Valdez are part of the Linda Pace Foundation Collection, gifted by Janet Lennie Flohr and Hare & Hound Press.

We’re thrilled to celebrate this recognition of an artist whose work is part of our collection. Congratulations, Vincent! 🥳

Join artist Julia Barbosa Landois in the Studio Yard for “W**d is a Word: Community Picnic,” a free, all-ages gathering with music, snacks and drinks featuring ingredients connected to our local climate, complimentary zines, seed packets to take home, and conversation with the artist.

Drop in for a few minutes or stay awhile. Guests can enjoy snacks and drinks featuring traditional ingredients connected to the local climate, including edible plants. Complimentary zines explore the language of weeds and themes from the project, while seed packets offer an opportunity to carry a piece of the garden home.
