New York is home to more than 450 species of native bees, many of them solitary pollinators that nest in small spaces and play a major role in keeping gardens, flowers, and food crops thriving.
On Thursday, June 18th, Flower City Beeworks is bringing a hands-on workshop to ARTISANworks where participants will build their own native bee hotel using recycled materials. Each finished bee home is designed to be installed in your yard or garden, creating habitat for local pollinators while giving you a chance to observe these fascinating insects up close.
Founded right here in Rochester, Flower City Beeworks focuses on rooftop urban beekeeping, pollinator education, and community outreach. Their work helps connect people with the important role bees play in our ecosystem while making conservation approachable and accessible.
