Opening September 24, “Remain Present” features a collection of works by American artist Nicholas Roes.
The exhibition considers gesture as evidence of the artist’s presence. Each work carries traces of its making through movement, texture, and the accumulation of material. Marks, layers, and surfaces become records of time, attention, and physical engagement.
At a moment when images can be generated, reproduced, and circulated with increasing ease, “Remain Present” returns attention to the act of making itself. The collection emphasizes painting as a physical encounter between artist and material—one shaped by touch, decision, revision, and presence.
